In the start I always end up with Bartz as a Knight, Galuf as a Monk, Lenna as a white mage and Faris as a black mage. I don't particularly use Black mage much, but if I use it it's usually Faris because she looks awesome as a black mage

after more jobs start opening up I don't really care who's what, so all choices are practical choices from then on.
