Muhahaha, now that I'm back in the game I have come up with a very cunning scheme to become a Gravelord from the very start, muhaha!

The plan:First I'll use this tactic to get my hands on the Great Scythe; a proper Gravelord weapon. Then I'll upgrade it like the way he shows.

After that I'll take the shortcut again, but instead of dropping down to Leeroy's sign I'll go through the tunnel and join the Covenant. When I return to the tunnel I'll just run for the Eyes of Death hidden behind the titanite demon and move on to the Burg. My goal is to be Gravelording the entire playthrough, but it all depends how many Eyes of Death I can collect with only 3 to start with until I reach the Depths. Even then collecting more can be tedious without the Gold Serpent Ring.

Got my roommate to beat the game! He used the Iron Flesh strategy against Gywn. Still counts!

Is he hooked on the game?

The first part of my Gravelord scheme is complete. Re-enacting the video was actually harder than it looks, but it was pretty funny to see Paladin Leeroy smack Pinwheel in it's 3 faces. I am now a level 6 Gravelord wielding a Fire Great Scythe.

Next time I'll be getting the Wolf and Red Tearstone rings before moving on to the Burg where I'll launch my first Eye of Death. I'm tempted to go and try get the Hornet Ring through the Basin, but both the Hydra and the cats are ruthless at low level.

Your day shall come my friend!

I started gravelording in the Burg today and already have come across somewhat of a problem; level 1 Darkwraiths. It is fun to get invaded at the rate it sometimes happens though. Like, 2-3 people joining in just 20 seconds.

This game is okay but not tremendously interesting or engaging for me. I'm glad so many other people seem to like it though!

Wait until invasions start to occur. Or when you hit a certain boss fight involving two gentlemen working together to kill you in ten seconds flat.

Or when you can't help cracking a smile when an NPC suspects you of having a crush on him

Seriously though, the first 3-4 hours of the game I was having doubts myself. Thought I made a mistake spending €50 on such a dark and 'difficult' game. But the contrary is true, and now it ranks among my favorite games of all time.

I hope you can still get some enjoyment out of it MILF

I thought it was a good little game when I started playing. Then I began exploring the depths of the combat system and realised it was a magnificent game. Then I started exploring the depths of the lore, and the way it was handled, and Dark Souls became one of my favourite games ever. The world that From Software created really tickles my historian side's fancy. They provide you with a really genuine world. Historians don't know trout; they make assumptions based off of some evidence, and when there is no evidence they make assumptions based off of how the world was two hundred years prior and two hundred years after. If you want to understand the lore of the world, you have to actually figure it all out.

    Glorious. Utterly glorious.

On that topic, (SPOILER)Manus is the pygmy? I haven't played it myself, of course, but I've been watching playthroughs, and it seems likely.

Getting smacked by those big dumb mushrooms is really the saddest possible way of dying.

Those things hit hard! I love it when they beat up a ganker I'm hunting in the forest. It's rare, but it happens.

Getting eaten by a mimic is pretty sad too.

Pathetic deaths are the best deaths. You know they can happen, you normally do not fall for them, and one day you go out for a casual stroll, and you take it again to pick up your bloodstai--nevermind, another dumb death you could have avoided if you were not being so flippant. Fuuuuck.

Been pounding out my main characters so I can trade with Jen and give her characters nifty stuff, but grinding through areas and bosses for excess loot is a bother. I want to invade people and mess up their mornings.

My favourite pathetic death is, and will always be, the spatial awareness death. It's particularly enjoyable when you're invaded by a DWG Ring flipper, and they just ponce off the edge of a cliff to their death.

Ah, we've all been there I've walked myself off the forest cliff quite a few times while backing off and remaining locked on the gankers as a forest hunter. Such shame and the gankers must've laughed their masks off.
