Have pretty much decided on the three games I'll play, and have already completed the campaign of Halo: Reach with smittenkitten at my side. It was really fun, I have to say, although I'm unsure if I prefer it to Halo 3. There were bits of both games I would have liked to see in the other. Great fun regardless.

Batman: Arkham Asylum is also great fun. I'm really enjoying myself and looking forward to times when I can game on my own. But over the past couple of days, most of my time has been spent on...

Final Fantasy VII on the PSP, as I want to replay it before I play FFVII: Crisis Core. Danielle is also playing the game on the PS3, so yay for mutual nostalgia.

Probably because it feels like nothing but a medieval fantasy theme mod for either games

If it felt like a mod, it'd be great :p

It's mostly the characters. None of them, so far, are remotely interesting. After one conversation with each I used up all the options. Nothing new presents itself. And I absolutely hate Allistair! No, hatred isn't enough. I megahate this smurfer. Everything about him offends me.

The other reasons as to why this game is :bou::bou::bou::bou: are a mystery to me.

Finished the story & riddler stuff for Batman: Arkham Asylum, hoping to work on the challenges at some point this week. Otherwise still slowly but surely moving along with Final Fantasy VII on the PSP and considering what co-op game I'm more likely to play next with Danielle - Splinter Cell: Conviction or continue with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light. Probably will depend on our mood at the time.

I'm gonna have to look this game up sounds pretty awesome!

You may know the game for its sequel, Lufia II: The Rise of the Sinistrals which details the events that happen in the prologue of Lufia & The Fortress of Doom. The two games are in reverse chronological order: Lufia & The Fortress of Doom takes place 99 years after the events of the second game despite being released years earlier. Its unpolished nature tends to make it less liked than its sequel which is considered one of the better Super Nintendo games.

Taking a break from my PS3 and Wii as well as my PSP...

SNES: Chrono Trigger - Coming to the revelation this may in fact be my favorite JRPG of all time. I'm already at Zeal.

PS1: Chrono Cross - Wow this hasn't aged well... not in terms of tech but lord I use to think this game was better than this. I kinda forgot how often every character including NPCs will out of nowhere talk about man's impact on the planet of whether we are truly accountable for the actions that we may have taken from the infinite possibilities that existence has given us and how we are both inferior and superior beings for drifting on the river of time and the quantum theory... I don't remember this game being so... pretentious.

GBA: Golden Sun 1 - Trying to finish it and lo and behold only in the 11th hour does the game finally remember it has a plot. It finally picked up in Colosso and now I'm staring at the final dungeon... joy. I will never fathom how this series got it's following. Maybe the Lost Ages will correct all the problems.

Phantasy Star Portable. It's exactly like the other two Phantasy Star Universe games, complete with the inability to pause. I do like how PP on melee weapons charge when you hit something, and PP on guns and wands charge much more quickly than before. It makes being a Force or Ranger actually fun. New weapon classes are kind of a mixed bag. It adds more variety, but also more restrictions. Okay, I guess!

Things I wish they would change in Story Mode:
I WANT TO BE ABLE TO PAUSE THE GAME
More Type variety in my allies. There is one Force character. Everyone else is a Hunter. No Rangers. Being a Ranger yourself is pointless because your party members stick with you, therefore the enemy charges right up to your face. You can't keep a good distance. It's best to just be a Hunter or Force with a gun handy for flying enemies.

MGS4, finally getting a replay of this and regretting I didn't start it on a higher difficulty cause I've been breezing through this game. I only started a few days ago and I'm already at Shadow Moses.

Went back to some Fallout 3 but I'm quickly learning I prefer playing this game casually. Its not often I play a game for several hours and feel like I've accomplished very little. With the exception of DeathClaws there is pretty much nothing in this game that can pose as a challenge for me which has made a majority of the game feel like silly fetch quests at this point.

I'm hoping to finally start playing some MGS: Peace Walker and P3P soon, I've been putting both these games off for some time now. I also picked up GoW Collection and hope that age and not playing DMC for a few years will make these games feel more appealing.

Well I finally bought Dead Space after renting it a couple weeks ago, extremely late. And totally fell in love with it, and bought it online for $20. Also go Alan Wake on a hunch that I'd enjoy and it'd totally be worth $20 itself. Only had like 3 hours left in Dead Space, but its one of those games I just want in my collection. And it was totally worth it. I'll be pimping that game out to friends a time or two. And Alan Wake did not disappoint me. I know a lot of other people weren't impressed with it, but I loved it. Yeah, MGS4 is an interesting beast in that regard. If you play it as a run-and-gun you can get through it pretty fast. But in doing that, you end up ignoring all the other fun toys they give you that encourage stealth.

I'm playing Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, which is fabulous, though the shoot-outs get kind of annoying. Too many guys that just pop out of nowhere and take a bajillion shots to take out. I'm also playing Red Faction Guerrilla, which is quite fun, but can get frustrating with how enemies just spawn infinitely right on top of you whenever you get an alert. Still, blowing stuff up is a blast.

I have for the most part been pretty stealthy outside of a few points where getting directly involved with the natives was more to my advantage. Honestly, I feel the combat mechanics weaken the stealth aspect cause it forgets the fundamental driving force that makes stealth work, which has always been immediate consequences. Being docked a higher rank and losing out on a few novelty items is not much of an incentive to care about getting caught when you can easily dispatch a battalion of soldiers with little effort.

I still hold to some of my original thoughts on gameplay for MGS4. In it's efforts to make combat more accessible and not as clumsy, the game has accidentally undermined the greatest part of the series which was the stealth. Not only is it too easy in some parts, but I really don't care about getting caught anymore cause it doesn't mean imminent death like it did in the past titles. There are no real consequences anymore, and so I feel the game lost something valuable for me at least.

I started P3P and am having a blast with the girls' scenario. The game re-uses a lot of things from P4 but has at least fixed most of the elements that made the dungeon crawling part of gameplay lackluster in P4.

I have however begun playing Guild Wars again. Considering I tend to get very bloody bored after an hour or two or decide I don't like the character look/feel anymore I keep restarting characters. I've chosen to do a warrior on this current attempt. The thing what annoys me most in a way is the dual job classes...god sakes give me 1 job class and stick with it, fuck having secondary jobs let me just focus on being a warrior or being a necromancer whatever. Or take a different approach I'm really getting sick of "Job class" rpg's atm. I really want to find something similar to the game I used to work on. I've given up on Fallout 3, for now. This game is looking to be something a toy with when I'm really bored. Finished MGS4 as well, beautiful game.

Went back to Mirror's Edge for a little while and probably going to give Valkyrie Chronicles another shot soon. For the Wii, I've mostly decided to get back to FFIV the After Years (almost finished with Rydia's chapter and going to start Yang's soon) and get in a little Capcom vs. Tatsunoko as well.

Taking a break from the DS for the moment but will shortly be returning for some MegaTen love. For the PSP, P3Portable is my main game though I might try to finish P1 as well. Once P3P is over, it's on to MGS Peace Walker unless Dissidia Duodecim has been released by then. I also hope to eventually get a new Memory stick for some Xenogears/Front Mission 3 portable play.

For the PS2, I've gone back to regular DDR marathons sessions. I've currently discovered DDR Extreme 2 which surprisingly features several former arcade exclusive tracks like Butterfly, Cartoon Heroes Speedy Mix, and one I can't even pronounce but love. It also features several old school tracks that have been missing since the games jumped to PS2 like Dynamite Rave. I'm having a nostalgic orgasm.

Beyond DDR, I'm finishing up another playthrough of SMTIII:Nocturne before I start Digital Devil Saga. I'm also looking towards finishing FFII (FFOrigins) though I'm near the point where I'm just maxing out spells... and starting and finishing a playthrough of Front Mission 4. I also have been itching for a marathon through Wild ARMS 1 & 2 lately but my plate is a bit fool at the moment.

I've heard many-a-tale of woe from people trying to legitimately return something, and only being offered store credit for the game's price, not a full refund. I rarely say this, considering I hate the place with a seething fiery passion. But for this one instance, you may want to consider Walmart. They're pretty well known for refunding anything. Even if you lose the receipt you may get a refund, or at least store credit

Lately, the same game I've been consistently playing since a year ago: Super Street Fighter IV. Though yesterday I started up a new character in Oblivion to go through the Shivering Isles expansion. I've never done it before and have heard great things (although I have watched my girlfriend do most of it).

Been considering for a while now playing through FFIX. Might get the started tonight, actually. I haven't played it since I joined this site, and since this place has more FFIX fans in one place than I've ever seen, I kind of want to re-check it out.

I've been replaying through FFVII, going for a perfect save and I've just got Emerald and Ruby to beat so I've been leveling up some materia. Kinda got bored of it for now I'll go back to it in a week.
I also reinstalled Shogun: Total War and started a campaign on that. I played a 2 hour battle for a provence with thousands of troops on each side and ended up losing by the skin of my teeth....what a waste of time.

Started a new game on Oblivion a few weeks ago. but, I've run into a bug and can't seem to fix it through the console. And it's with a mage guild quest so I can't advance in there anymore and thats making me very mad :mad2: Considering I have just finished the Crusader quests, Dark Brotherhood and the Fighter Guild, Have purchased all of the things I need for all of my houses and hideouts. I REALLY don't want to start over or go back to a earlier save :(

@dak: it's not so much that the game has been super hard yet, it's just that deciphering that tutorial is like learning to read Arabic. It took me like 20 retries before I realise that hero actions lower your Bezels, and it still doesn't say how to raise your overall bezels (I'm assuming that it's just a general levelling thing) and I still don't understand why bonus shots only seem to trigger sometimes.

Finally on the final chapters of FFIV:TAY but I am taking a break cause I don't feel like grinding everyone to not suck, cause The Man in Black is the only decent character coming out of the previous chapters.

Currently I'm playing:

Wii:
Ogre Battle - Good game, just wish upgrading classes wasn't so complicated with me having to keep track of enemy levels and reputation...

Skies of Arcadia Legends - Friend keeps raving about this game so I'm giving it a go. Despite being horribly goody good (but not preachy thank god) for my taste (I mean seriously, One Piece is more violent and demoralizing) I have really loved the game so far. Really feels like something from the 16-bit /32-bit era. :D

PSP:

Vagrant Story - God I forgot how good this game is. Just about everything is near perfect in this game. I was only going to watch the intro and found myself beating the Golem boss by 2am.

PS3:

Assassin's Creed - Still haven't gotten far, its annoying I'm already sick of the whole "go to the location, go to the bureau, interrogate one guy, pickpocket another guy, eavesdrop on another, unlock target, find target, botch the stealth kill, murder everyone cause parry/counter is broken, listen to a 10 minute monologue about how I'm working for the bad guys (like it wasn't obvious) rinse and repeat. Occasionally breaking it up with the modern segments. I've gone GTA at this point, mostly screwing around by climbing everything, collecting flags, and murdering Crusaders and just about anyone who annoys me...

I'm going to call you wrong here, not because it's a huge difference from FFTA but in regards to how the laws work on this one and how certain other game play factors some of which are more of a throwback to the FFT original game than to the FFTA entry. I will call you wrong here in that it's not similar to FFTA at all, though it does have some recurring characters, namely at the end of the game you meet Mewt from FFTA as a grown up and instead of taking place in a dream Ivalice the Ivalice of FFTA2 is the same Ivalice as in FF12 so yeah, kinda different I see where you're coming from with the early game FFTA stuff but yeah pretty different to be honest when you get in to it.

I've been playing The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and so far I've enjoyed it. The story is full of intrigue and has interesting twists, and I like how your choices change the storyline (which is nice for replay value). The mere prologue is one of the most impressive prologues I've seen in games in a long while, and it teaches you the game's basics in a clever, interesting and funny way while also affecting the plot at large. I like the grey morality where you can find pros and cons on either side of the argument, which doesn't make some choices between factions easy. The quests offer a great variety, and the boss battles are suitably epic when they occur.

The graphics are downright pretty, and the environments are detailed and full of life. The day and night cycle as well as different weathers (sunny, rain, misty etc.) help bring the world to life, and the cities and towns are full of life with carefully detailed characters. VAs do their job properly, and the music sounds nice (although I wish there were more tracks).

The difficulty curve in normal setting is challenging but not frustrating; I like how the game punishes you if you rush into a mob without thinking of a strategy. You need to be clever and play dirty, knowing when to attack and when to retreat. The different development paths for your character (you can focus on alchemy, magic or swordsmanship or be a jack of all trades) allow for some interesting builds where you can mix different abilities while also keeping in mind that you'll only get a limited number of talent points so you have to decide carefully which paths to take.

Although I guess it's too early to say whether this game is going to be exceptional or not (I'm only at the end of chapter 1 right now), so far it's been a thrilling ride which offers great replay value, an intriguing story and some great game mechanics with a nice difficulty curve. I can't remember the last time I've had so much fun with a game. :)

Okay, so, *deep breath*, I still have Resonance of Fate to play which I'm not even sure if I'm halfway through (going by the trophy list for chapters), that got interrupted when PSN came back on and I bought InFamous. I'm up to the last island on inFamous and I then got kinda bored and started playing MLB 10, and have been interspersing that with Outland (which was another AWESOME PSN purchase, highly recommend it to anyone who feels like playing an old school side scroller). However, I also purchased FF 6, 7, and 9, all of which I've never played; so god knows how many hours that will take me. Plus, for some stupid reason I bought Demon's Souls and Heavy Rain (mostly cause they were cheap) and they'll be arriving in the next few days.

Alice: Madness Returns is also coming out soon over here, which will be another purchase. I also got Ratchet and Clank from the PSN package, but I haven't installed that yet, and I have the Prince of Persia trilogy to play through still, and I haven't even passed the first one.

Resident Evil 5 as well, played through the main campaign once so I could get Mercenaries unlocked. The game is less fun on your own, so hopefully I can get online with a few people and kill some bitches :D

Valkyria Chronicles is good fun too, some of the levels have :bou::bou::bou::bou:ted me off, but I'm getting there slowly. I love how gay Jann is, it's fabulous.

Have been playing Final Fantasy II and am at the final boss, but not ready (going by my first attempt) to fight him yet. Will need to grind away. At home, playing Infamous as a bad guy on hard difficulty in an attempt to get another platinum trophy. Definitely an enjoyable game, that one, but I've already posted in Infamous and FFII threads recently so those can cover my overall thoughts.

Finally, Danielle has been playing Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise a lot lately and every now and then she throws the controller at me while she's going out of the room or is making dinner or whatever. It's a surprisingly fun game but at the same time there seems to be a point where I just go from having fun to being bored in the space of about a minute. Generally when a high level is reached and everything is controlled, it's just... boring for me to keep going. No challenge, I guess. Also a very frustrating game with how often it restricts you.

Usually we play some sort of free-for-all where it's us and several AI, but more often than not we end up teaming up by the end of the game. Sometimes it's with a permanent alliance, other times we just give each other all of our tech and have an "unofficial" truce.*

Lately, though, we've been playing head-to-head, which is fun and results in some delightfully close games! Sure, there's some trolling and disagreements involved, but it's all in good fun! :jess:

Currently playing Batman: Arkham Asylum for PS3. I love the story and all the Batman tie ins. It creates an Arkham that is fit for Gotham City. The combat can be repetitive, especially the boss fights. With the variety of Bat-villains I expected some MGS level variety in the boss battles but so far I'm not getting it.

Also just started Final Fantasy: Four Heroes of Light for NDS. So far it's enjoyable though a bit cheesy.

I have also been playing Dissidia 012 for PSP. I found the 012 storyline to be pretty decent and I really enjoyed playing the new characters. The 013 storyline puts me to sleep though, and I'm finding playing the original Dissidia characters is not as fun (or maybe I'm getting sick of the repetition).

That sounds like reasonable foreign policy to me.

I just finished Assassin's Creed 2 last night. I think I may do a blog post on it specifically at a later point but I have to say I was thoroughly impressed. Given how much of a bore the original was most of the time (I finally sat down and just ploughed through it to get to the second one) the jump in quality is nothing short of astounding. And I don't say this about any game ever really, but I'll probably buy the DLC soon.

If I have one quibble with the game it would be that characters just seem to drop off the map after awhile and then everybody just shows up towards the end with no warning. I would have liked to see more of all of the characters throughout the game, but at the same time I think that could have thrown the pacing off a bit. Overall a great game that's worthy of the praise it got. Hopefully in the next few months I can grab Brotherhood, and then the new one in November.

Final Fantasy X of all things. I've just beaten those 2 Ronso with Kimarhi. I don't remember this game being quite so easy though :/

I always gave kimarhi the shaft so that battle always took forever. It's easy, just long repetitive and boring. I always overgrinded on ffx so the storyline was a joke for me.

I can vouch for this, I'm in the second half of AC2 but taking some time off to finish some other titles. I was pretty confounded how much better AC2 was compared to the original and its practically in every facet of the game as well. I'm looking forward to the blog but place a warning about spoilers cause I'm still trying to finish it.

I think the jump in quality made more sense when I found out the development team had 450 people on it at one point. I've never even heard of a development team being that large so I assume Ubisoft's solution was to throw people at the game until it didn't suck like the first one. Certainly explains the massive jump in content and the very different feel of each city in the game.

Gears of War 2. Horde mode with certain posters on these here forums. Honestly it's amazing how it can still invoke massed shouts of profanity. "OH tit THAT smurfING BLOODMOUNT IS HERE BLOODMOUNT smurf smurf smurf" and that it somehow always manages to feel like an epic siege.
L.A. Noire. Got the new DLC case. Was pretty decent I guess, although I was never a huge fan of the arson cases as it's inevitably a bitch to find any in tact evidence at the crime scenes.
Mass Effect 2. My ridiculous Must. Do. EVERYTHING! mantra when it comes to Western RPGs does not mean I will complete this game anytime soon.

I just beat Final Fantasy X-2 a couple days ago. I was going for 100% completion but eventually realized that I had messed something up early on in the game and stopped caring. The perfect ending really isn't worth it anyways. Otherwise, I did everything except for finishing Via Infinito (level 80 and on kicked my butt). So, I'm done with that but am thinking of going back and trying to get to the end of Via Infinito when I have time.

Otherwise, I was going to start FF V only to run into the saving problem on the ps3. So, I'm probably going to invest in the Gameboy Advance version eventually. I will probably play through IV on the DS until then though. Either that or I will go back and try to finish Jeanne D'Arc as I kept being busy with other things every time I sat down to play it.

Once I move back into the dorms for school, I'll probably spend a lot of time playing Star Fox, Pokemon Snap, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1, and Zelda with my friends at school.

I guess in the end, I'm really playing nothing right now.

Almost done with inFAMOUS, which I discussed in another thread. After that I will probably play God of War 2. After that I am out of new games! I got Little Big Planet as part of the freebie program but I'm pretty spoiled by Nintendo when it comes to 2D platformers. LBP really has nothing on DKC, Kirby, or Super Mario.

I have a question. Would I like Red Dead Redemption? I'm not a big fan of 'open world' games but I hear this is one of the best games out there. What I like is a centralized story that progresses linearly. inFAMOUS had many open world elements but it more or less followed a set storyline. Certain areas were blocked out until the story progressed into those areas and the side missions were easily separated from the main missions and could be ignored without impacting things much. I liked that. I don't like a blank canvas where I could literally do anything because in those cases I just run around aimlessly. I need focus.

I also want to get Mass Effect 2 and God of War 3. That plus RDR would keep me busy for quite a while. It would be nice if Gamestop did another 'Buy 2 get 1 free' promotion of used games so I could get all three of them.

Iceglow

I reckon you might enjoy RDR Murder, the reasons being thus:

Initially areas are sealed off from the player, the player must progress the main story to unlock them.

Mission lines all tie in to key missions, a player can only do so many missions for one person until that person becomes unavailable to them until the other missions are done.

Free-hunting, basically instead of roaming around a place like Liberty City randomly shooting NPC's in the face with an assault rifle because "y'know it's fun" in RDR you're given an option where you don't need to break the law but can go hunting for an indefinite amount of time in the wilderness of the wild west. So long as you've ammo in the gun it's good. Whats more, skinning/plucking/picking the flowers on your hunt means you can sell them on to generate game wealth.

Stranger missions are random storylines which have no completion dead line (usually) but can often be completed in under 30 mins or so allowing you to find a random mini-story in the game.

Help missions crop up as you ride around these are quite repetitive but range from save the hanging man, defeat the bandit tricksters, help the person survive whatever animals/persons are hunting him, help the local law enforcement and assist shopkeeps by chasing down thieves.

Gambling, the gambling mini-games are amongst the most balanced I've ever played.

So yeah a few reasons to like RDR aside from it's awesome multiplayer.

I got Mount & Blade Warband and Mount & Blade: Fire & Sword a few days ago at a LAN party. Mostly played Fire & Sword because we couldn't get Warband working on the network, but I've been messing around with Warband's singleplayer mode since I got back.

Fire & Sword involves old-school muskets and pistols that have terrible accuracy, hold one shot at a time, and take forever to reload. After dying a few times I remembered a show I saw once about pirates, and how it mentioned that they'd carry several pistols with one shot each when they raided other ships. It ended better than I was expecting it to. Although slicing people's faces in half with a pole axe after I got tired of shooting them was where all the real fun was...

I recently discovered my boyfriend's laptop can play Portal 2. So I'm playing Portal 2!

My spoilery progress:

Wheatley has just taken over the facility and GLaDOS is a potato. At first I was like "omg why did you kill Wheatley he was going to be my best friend forever" and then he wasn't dead but then it turned out he wasn't my friend forever anyway. After he turned GLaDOS into a potato he punched me way into the ground and I fell forever and then I wound up in some place and a bird took off with GLaDOS so I wandered around until I came upon the old Aperture Science facility and a guy on the intercom was talking about tests and repulsion gel so I was like "oh okay, still some testing to do, I guess I can go to bed now since I'm not about to beat it like I thought I was." And now I'm a work and I want to go home and play it some more.

Maybe, just maybe, someday I can play Assassin's Creed Brotherhood. Someday.

Yeah, do soldier first or never, because it is SO boring once you've done the other classes. I recommend Adept or Vanguard, because biotics in ME2 are so fun. Vanguard has the Charge ability, which is the coolest one in the game.

The main advantage to soldier is more weapon damage and health, which won't matter when you pwn everyone with biotics, and the ability to carry all weapons at once, which won't matter because in other classes the abilities easily make up for it and later on you can pick an additional weapon of your choice anyway.

What's really fun is using Pull to make someone float toward you, because when they're floaty they're more vulnerable to Throw, which will make them fly off the map in that state xD

Del Murder
08-17-2011, 05:04 PM
I went with Sentinel because in FF games I always liked the Paladin role. Except for Sentinel in FFXIII which was boring as hell to play. It also sounds like a well-rounded role. Adept sounded cool but I read that you can't manipulate enemies with shields meaning it's pretty useless on tougher fights until the shields get broken. Dunno if that's true but it scared me off it. Vanguard was a top choice as well but I'm pretty sucky at close combat in shooting games.

Jessweeee♪
08-17-2011, 08:02 PM
Yeah, I don't think there are any biotic abilities that do shields, but one of the weapons Adept starts with (sub machine gun, I think) tears right through them, and of course you have your squad members to cover all of your bases too. I tend to bring Garrus along when I play a squishy class anyway, and he has Overload. And most enemies will have amor or a biotic barrier instead of shields. So it doesn't really have to be an issue. I still haven't tried Sentinel though. Maybe I'll do that next time.

I've mostly been playing Starcraft 2 and Team Fortress 2 lately. I need to finish up the last night in Catherine though, and I've also started replaying Warcraft 3. I have to say though, I'm having a hard time playing through it after playing so much SC2. It's just so slow by comparison, and I'm realizing that there are a lot of systems working to make it a much slower paced game than SC2, at least in single player. I'll admit it's been so long since I played the game a lot that I know nothing of playing the game at even a moderately high level anymore, but between slow build times and upkeep, it really seems like Blizzard just wanted you to sit there building your base and stockpiling gold for the first 5-10 minutes before you actually did anything substantial to progress. The only levels that aren't really like this are the ones where you just complete an objective with the units you start with and whatever you find along the way, and while those go faster, they're also my least favourite level type in every Blizzard RTS ever I think.

And I also have to say that the pathing AI is atrocious in WC3. It was so much better than Starcraft was back in 2002 that I never noticed, but shit your units are stupid. I've seen them get stuck on each other for the better part of 30 seconds while they try to figure out who goes in front.

About 40 hours into ME2 (PS3 version) and I just realized I got screwed on two fronts. One, I didn't know you could download an interactive comic to catch up on ME1 and make some of the important decisions from that game that influence ME2. Two, I always buy my games used, because I generally don't get to them until months or even years after they first come out. The enemies in X-Com do not use strategy. They just destroy you utterly and completely. It is a complete smurfing.

Nothing beats the joy of having your squad barely out the door and see an Alien Grenade/Sonic Pulser lobbed into the midst of them on the enemy's first turn.

I am almost done with 3D Dot Heroes but I have to do another playthrough; I ran into what appeared to be a dead-end in a cave I was exploring and I wondered what went wrong, so I checked online and apparently I missed the small window of opportunity to get a properly cool ending. So now I have to repeat everything I have done, but better. Agh.

Maybe I will switch back to Demon's Souls and grind enough to be a threat to something someday.

So I didn't realize that the Cerberus Network is only free for new copies of the game and now it's gonna cost me an extra 15 bucks. :(

I played my boyfriend's 360 version when I got tired of waiting for the day when I could afford to go and buy the first one, so I didn't get to experience ME1's influence in the game until very recently myself. I'm so excited to see what I can do to influence Mass Effect 3!

Playing fftactics
This game is kicking my ass, I'm not used to my opposition in tactics games using actual strategy.

You should have a really really fucking bad feeling about this. You are going to be raped.

I finished Mass Effect 2 so I'm not sure what I should move onto next. I'm thinking Borderlands.

Borderlands DLC is legit. Main story is eh.

I have been on SNK vs. Capcom: Card Fighters DS a majority of the day.

Been playing Space War on my Android 2.2 phone. This game is so simple yet I can't stop playing it. :p

Is that, like... a remake of the original Spacewar? From the 60s? :o If so I am impressed.

Disgaea 4.

I've never played a Disgaea game, but I've played a lot of crappy recent j.RPG's on PS3, so I know the characters.

I'm not used to this good story/gameplay from a PS3 game though.

Ratchet and clank future series? (implying that you meant ps3 games in general)
Yeah disgaea comes off at first like it's just another weird jrpg but then it shows you that it's fantastic.

Decided to break out one of my old ps2 games and give it a twist to make it interesting. Playing ratchet&clank 3 for I think.. the 10th time? I'm dead serious about that, it could be more. Since I know the game inside and out I decided to make it harder by never buying damage reducing armor. Endgame armor reduces damage taken by about 70%, I have 0% damage reduction. Just beat the last level (where I get insta-killed from anything if I'm hit) actually and am working on killing the final boss.
Forgot how short the game is... blew through it in 1 day.
Gonna go back to nuzlocke when I beat it and finish off the elite four.

I've been playing Oblivion lately (OOO/Beautiful People/Natural Environments) due to Skyrim anticipation, and as Danielle has been playing Sims 3, that means that when she steps away from her PC to do dishes or something, she tells me to play Sims 3 for her. I've also had my copy of Resistance 3 delivered so I expect to play that sometime this month, co-op with Danielle.

I'm playing so much Civ IV that it isn't even funny

Also, Huxley has challenged me to play three full Civ V games. Civ V. :mymelbert:

So I'm going to be doing that inbetween packing/moving/being busy.

Finishing Resistance 3. As well as the occasional game of Flower. Which is the best thing on PS3 so far.

Updated my 360 the other day. Didn't realise that it updates my achievement lists as well. Long story short, I now have to get the DLCs for Mass Effect 1 and 2 to add them to my completed list again. Should be fresh and fun though. At least I don't have to do it on insanity mode :monster:

Still playing Oblivion but now also back to playing Final Fantasy VI on my way home from work again - just at the point where you first see Gau, so yay for that. Looking forward to finally having Espers... it must be soon by now! Finally, Danielle and I began playing Resistance 3 last night. It's good so far!
