Oh, boy, I am currently FF busy. Currently playing (and getting my ass kicked) in the DS version of FFIV. I hate how unreasonably difficult it can be. FFV playthrough is constant, and so is my first real attempt at FFX-2, which is disturbingly easy compared to FFIV.

Every FF is easy compard to IV. (Except possibly tactics.)

Of course even tactics is easy next to the beast that is IV DS. O_O

It doesn't help X-2 is piss easy anyway.

Not much of anything really. I mean I've been doing stuff in P3 but I've played that game so many times it's just tinkering at this point. A little Gitaroo Man as well.

I really should start The Last Story but with October and Halloween around the corner, I felt it would be nice to play some "scary" games and so I fished out my copies of Silent Hill 2 and Fatal Frame to play through. I've never actually played either game so this should be amusing.

With silent hill 2, I hope you're good at puzzles, they get creative with them in that game. (also, don't playthrough the first time on hard, there are certain sections that are supposed to be dramatic that just end in tears of frustration on hard)

I'm into Tales of Phantasia for the SNES right now, but my problem is that I always want to get through the first few hours of the game as perfect as possible.
For example, I instantly lose interest if I get a Game Over too early, and if I figure out a small improvement somewhat early in the game I will restart for that reason as well (for example, buying the Jet Boots before the sewer part).
Even having to use the Life Bottle on Mint in the sewers can zap my interest, because if I need to do that then my strategies weren't optimal, and I wasted a fine Life Bottle when I wouldn't have needed to.

I also have weird tendencies to adapt my playing sessions to the game's storyline.
For example, when they travel back in time about an hour into the game I always Save State the file and continue with the past a few hours later - that way I get a strong feeling of really starting a completely new part of the story, and it makes the beginning of the game feel more "far away".

Basically, yes. You can't restart if any character gets RNG screwed, dies, etc.
Considering it's very much a luck based game, it can end in some hilarious ways (my Artur getting killed by a 1% crit from a pegasus knight as one example)

Nuzlocke is just thrown in front by people who do these runs because basically everyone RNG abuses the absolute hell out of their characters, and they restart so they can get every character they don't need, so playing the game as it's intended is basically a challenge run now.

Silent Hill 2, so far the atmosphere is great but good god are the controls awful. I will never understand why people put up with the old RE control system, it really did overcomplicated something that should have been easier to do. Despite being a PS2 title, I really feel like I'm playing an old PS1 title. Having fun, just wanted to bitch about the only aggravating element.

If I'm not mistaken you can change the controls to move in the direction you press instead. I might be thinking of a later SH though. But honestly, I never minded the tank like RE controls in slower games like RE or SH. It wasn't until people started putting them in action games (*cough* RE4 *cough*) that it bothered me.

I just find it counter-intuitive to make turning a chore. While it has not been detrimental since as you said, the games don't have enough action to warrant more responsive controls, I do find it illogical. I wish I could move the camera around as well but I understand why it's so limited.

The game is actually far better put together than I remember, with only the "eh" characters being my only complaint, and that's a minor one.

Twilight Princess is actually my favorite of the 3D Zeldas as well, and it's tied with Link to the Past as my favorite in the series. :D

I honestly never finished Twilight Princess. I hated the opening for being mind numbingly slow, I hated wolf form because fetch quests are stupid, and the first two dungeons felt like OoT all over again. Was I missing something by jumping ship so early (and by early I of course mean several hours in)?

And any answer to this thread for at least the rest of October which doesn't include XCom is wrong and you should all be ashamed.

XCom

The first few hours in Twilight Princess are probably the worst in any Zelda game that's been released. I was losing interest as well but decided to persevere. It takes a lot of things that made OoT great and improved on them in many ways.

Ocarina of Time was too ground-breaking to be surpassed for me but TP was not far behind. You should definitely play through it at least once, Vivi. You won't regret it!

This is actually one of the problems that kept popping up in my mind each time I thought about going back to it: I don't really like OoT that much anymore. Don't get me wrong, it was fairly ground breaking for the time, and it did a good job of bringing the Zelda formula into 3D, but after beating it twice when it came out I've never managed another full playthrough. I've tried a few times but every time I end up bored out of my skull by the time I get the Master Sword and simply stop. I actually don't think I made it that far last time. I was never able to quite put my finger on why though, and it's been so long since I last tried playing it I can't say for sure why it fell flat with me after those first two times.

I doubt it's over familiarity with it by any stretch at least. I did do just about everything during my second playthrough, but I could say the same about games like FFIV, FFVI, Mario World, Mario 64, Mirror's Edge, and who knows how many more. But I've beaten each of those at least a dozen times over the years.

I've beaten OoT once because my friends forced me to, and I have to say... since I didn't play the game as a kid, the nostalgia goggles had no effect on me, and I didn't enjoy my time with it much. The controls were too wonky for me... master quest was enjoyable, though I was never able to beat it.

Back on TP:
Meh, I don't know if you'd enjoy the rest then. While it may introduce 3 of the best things to ever be put into a LoZ game, double clawshot, Spinner, and Ball and Chain... meh, I'm not sure if you'd be able to push through. It's a shame because the game is basically OoT if it had actually aged well, but you can't love every masterpiece I suppose.

EDIT: Also, I should at least list my favorite LoZs (3D)
1: TP (I just love how it expands on what made OoT great, had some awesome level design, and quite possibly the best tools and puzzles ever. )
2: Wind Waker (I said favorite, not best*)
3: Majoras Mask (The dark, sometimes unsettling story, the eery setting and characters and the masks. I loved this game to pieces)

OoTs story didnt draw me in as much as Majoras Mask to keep me interested, and I found wind wakers combat to be quite possibly the most fun in the entire franchise, even if there were some sections that made me want to kill a baby *(The triforce shards section being the prime complaint for obvious reasons)

Twilight Princess is definitely my favorite 3D Zelda game, followed closely by Windwaker and then I guess OoT. I was generally not a huge fan of Skyward Sword.

And people don't talk about it so much, but Minish Cap is one of my favorite entries in the series. I beat that game in one weekend, barely taking breaks to eat and piss. Yall should play it if you haven't.

Lately I've been playing Farcry 2, as I'd picked it up on the Steam summer sale and never really played it too much before. It's a good game, but definitely overambitious with the attempts at realism. The game would be better if they just scrapped the whole malaria thing, completely.

TP was better than SS. Reflecting at this point in time, I would have to agree that TP is the best 3D Zelda game. It is OoT on steroids. WW and SS tried to do something different and I appreciate that, but there really isn't anything that matches galloping through Hyrule field on Epona.

Minish Cap was actually the first Zelda game I played as a kid, and it's still quite possibly my favorite of all zeldas. That game is just a lot of fun to play. The artstyle and color pallet is vibrant and appealing to the eye, the controls are very fluid and work perfectly, and the combat is simply a lot of fun.

The thing about malaria, like weapon jamming, is that it creates these moments where it completely removes the player from their subconscious state where they're not actively thinking, just kind of reacting to the gunfights how they instinctively do in an FPS. It destroys that and randomly creates this scenario that you need to deal with before you can keep playing. It's this kind of dynamic, progressive storytelling and it's part of what separates Far Cry 2 from other shooters, even other open-world, open-ended shooters.

Still playing Silent Hill 2, I must say I have really mixed feelings about it but I'm at the historical society. Have I ever mentioned I hate RE puzzles? You know where I have to collect arbitrary items to do simple tasks like unlock a door? I mean at least SH's setting makes this kind of stuff more understandable than in RE, but it doesn't make it any less annoying to do. I'm really liking the atmosphere and story though. I'm finding myself honestly agreeing with Yahtzee that as a game, SH2 is utterly terrible and unfun but it has a great story and setting that just would not have worked as anything but as a game.

I may not have time for Fatal Frame before the month is out. I have ACIII to look forward to and afterwards, I feel I should finally tackle The Last Story.

Brutal Legend's stage battles have gone from cool to pissing me off. I wanna beat the game because I love the world and story but the gameplay is just not great. Like if there was a sequel it could be amazing, but the stage battles are all over the place and recently they've only been bridged by escort missions. Might read some guides on it to figure out how to power through but I'm getting a little tired of it - the story is seriously great though but a lot of the joke-y dialogue is forced (esp compared to the inspired script of Psychonauts).

I did start Planescape: Torment yesterday though and I kinda love it already. Hoping I get to spend more time with it.

Amnesia was going well for a few days but it's hard for me to get in the mood for it. A stressful day of work and real life is not well accompanied with a super stressful game. The narrative and progression is awesome though.

edit: I actually just looked at a FAQ and realized I'm like 2 missions out from beating Brutal Legend. Which explains why it's gotten so damn hard!

And there's something seriously satisfying about when your character clears the jam. But I will not say the same about the malaria mechanic. It's much more abundant than weapon jamming (this simply being because you engage in simple movement far more than in armed combat), and for me it does the opposite of what you've claimed. Instead of immersing me in the admittedly well-crafted open world of FC2, I find myself saying "ah, ok, the screen is blurry again. Genius."

I see what they were trying to do with it. If it had been less frequent and had crept up on me from time to time a bit in the heat of battle, then I would be OK with it (even though I had previously stated that it should have been done away with completely). But as it stands, it only stands to annoy me when I'm trying to proceed from one area to the next.

SH2 got me hooked with the story so I didn't really mind the puzzles that much. Still creeped out to death by Pyramid Head to this day and the whole Maria fiasco.

I'm currently playing RE6. The recent RE games seem more like COD or Halo in zombie mode but I don't really mind the change of pace. If I wanted to get scared to death, I'd probably pick Amnesia anyways. :)

Played Amnesia at my friend's place and finished it. It is not a long game but the story progresses really well. Some parts of the game made me almost crap my pants, for example the Storage room..... I opened a door and a smurfing zombie was standing behind it.

Really nice game. 9/10

Since it's been nothing but exams and studying with no play for me lately, I haven't done much other than have my 360 boost matches towards the ludicrous Seriously 3.0 on Gears of War 3 while I've been busy studying or doing more pressing things with my time. Now that midterms are finally over for me, though, I'm getting back into Borderlands 2. I'm also playing Happy Wars, which is Xbox Live's first free-to-play game, on the side. I'm also continuing on with Pokémon White, just working on raising team members for competitive play just because I feel like it.

I have mixed feelings about dead space 2.
I love the weapons and combat in the game, but I hate how much it fails in the horror aspect.
Dead space 1 wasn't too great in the horror part, but it was still decent. It had a great atmosphere and alright pacing. Dead space 2 just throws pacing out the damn window, and that bugs me quite a lot. I also don't like how they had issac take off his helmet and gave him a crappy personality. I liked the silent Issac, it made him a lot like Link in that he's more of a vessel for the player. At least for me, having Issac remove his helmet all the time and giving him a voice just... it detracts from the game and the atmosphere.
(This is just my thoughts though, a lot of people loved the game and I can see why. It just wasn't for me.)

Currently finishing up Twilight Princess. I've been taking my sweet ass time with this game, but I currently have 18/20 hearts, and I'm in the second to last dungeon.
1 heart container and 3 PoH left till I max out my health.

i actually felt the pacing of 2 was better than 1, but i'd say that it wasn't very scary compared to 1. i think they didn't introduce enough crap to really freak you out in terms of real fear/horror, but i found 2 more screwed up in some of the situations and settings than 1. there was an atmosphere on the ishimura that just wasn't replicated, ds2 felt less claustrophobic to me and i think that made it less stressful. after reading some reviews most people seem to agree on the change from real survival horror to more action in the sequel. i didn't mind at all, but then, my fave RE game is 4.

or i was just used to the kind of crap they pulled from ds1 lol

it's probably my fave horror series on this gen so far though

edit: i also thought it was a deeper story, even if some of it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. i didn't have a problem with him having a voice by the end, but it took a while getting used to it in the beginning yeah.

i liked that even though the main bad guy was supposed to be a bad guy, he issued an evac order before stuff went down. i guess i enjoyed the ambiguity of everthing, isaac turning off the power to the gov section to clear his path using the necromorphs was pretty cool, even if by that point he was just doing whatever "nicole" was telling him to.

the most screwed up part for me was probably the day care center, and the attendant/mother/baby scene. the eyeball scene was really well done as well.

I just couldn't take it seriously after the stupid as hell scene where they show you a necromorph 2 seconds into the damn game in plain light. That just pissed me off and they did nothing to build up any tension whatsoever. You're just thrown right into it. Hell, even DS1 TRIED to set up some tension.

The combat in both games is so amazing though, as well as the art design and attention to detail. It's a gorgeous game that's actually really damn creative, my only gripe is really the pacing and the drastic change of Issac as a character.
I wouldn't put it anywhere near my top favorites, but it's still a very well designed game. The eyeball scene in 2 was definitely creepy, and some areas built up an amazing atmosphere. I thankfully didn't screw it up when I played the frickin' eyeball "minigame".
Let me just end on this one thing, I LOVE how they used the interface on those games. It's just so awesome.

---------------------------------

Anyway: I finished TP today, and I have to say... I wish this game wasn't so easy. The monsters don't do nearly enough damage, and you deal far too much. For the last half I basically stopped using the master sword because I was sick of steamrolling all the enemies. The ordon sword makes things far more exciting. I had to use strategy during the fights as I actually had to utilize my 1-hit kill attacks like the upgraded jump strike, mortal blow, and great spin. I switched back to the Master Sword for ganon and I basically kicked his ass so fast I sat on my bed stunned into silence. I remember having quite a tough time as a kid, but even on the horseback section he didn't get a chance to summon his ghostly horsemen before I smacked him around something fierce.

The boss designs and sense of scale in the game is just breahtaking, and nearly every boss is just epic (excluding Zant, Firus, and the forest dungeon boss).

One thing though... the Hyrule Castle theme in this game is so bland and boring. In say... minish cap it was dark and foreboding (Dark Hyrule Castle -- The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uKjCxtcftNo)), in this... it is so SO quiet it just makes the final dungeon drag on and on and on. Zelda Twilight Princess Track - 1 Hyrule Castle Ganon - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g7GkUbjG7U) It's a good song, but it doesn't fit the dungeon whatsoever. I ended up just listening to my own music, something I've never had to do before on this game.

It's been 5 years since I've played this game, and it's aged very well I would say. Metroid Prime is still far more gorgeous and awesome though :p

Explored every corner of Assassin's Creed 2. Now it's back to Xenoblade Chronicles to finish that one up.
Forgot to mention this when I made this statement. On our honeymoon Miriel and I went to Tuscany and we got to visit many of the settings from AC2. In particular we explored Florence and San Gimignano and retraced Ezio's footsteps through several landmarks. It was pretty amazing. The level of detail in the settings for this game is pretty good since I instantly recognized most areas from the game. I have a couple photos of myself trying to do crazy acrobatic stuff but unfortunately I couldn't find an Ezio cloak to look like a real assassin.

It almost never does if you know what you're doing to begin with ._.
Besides, since I started gaming on pc I haven't had to spend more than 15 bucks on a game. I consider that far better than 40-60 bucks a pop.
Not to mention you have a choice between keyboard and mouse, or a controller.

It's far more expensive sure, but it's impossible to argue that consoles are better in terms of variety and all around quality.
Both are roughly equal when you weigh the pros and cons, but if you can build your own computer it's almost ALWAYS the better decision.

Depends on if you fall for temptation. For me, I only buy games 10 dollars or less, most of them are 5 bucks.
So, a typical ps3 game costs... say, let's round down, 40 bucks.
thats 4 10 dollar games, or 8 5 dollar ones.
I used to fall for temptation like mad, but not anymore. Hell, my library will probably last me for years, and I barely spent anything on it. I won't have to buy another game on PC for a LONG time. (is not the kind of guy to buy new games, console or not.)

and I already said that PC is more expensive UPFRONT, but it saves you so much money over the years if you MAKE IT right.
You can easily build a solid tower for like $400-500 (sometimes even less depending on preferences), and that can last you for YEARS if you take care of your stuff.
I will agree on one thing though, sometimes the games don't work properly. That can be an issue if you don't do your proper research. On the other hand though, most pc games give you a smurfing book of options you can tinker with, so your gaming is far more personalized for your tastes and needs compared to console games.

I don't have a ps3 or 360 anymore due to my brother taking the 360 when he moved out... soooo. I do go to game stores a lot though, and unless it's an older ps3 game, the price is almost always above 40 bucks. I actually want to buy a ps3 soon. It has a lot of games I want on it. Ratchet and clank future, the resistance series, among a few others.
I'm not bashing on ps3 or 360, but trying to argue against the PC being mechanically the best console is just ridiculous.

I really wish they'd make a more realistic looking crowd though.

My favorite characters so far
Firion Lv.100 (my main guy, firion is a badass)
Cloud Lv.100 (He's actually surprisingly fun to play as)
Vaan Lv.65 (This was a massive surprise, he's outrageously fun to play as, and he'll be Lv.100 very very soon)
Warrior of Light Lv.80-something (Meh, he's pretty fun... starting to lose his flair though)

Just started Story 000 a couple hours ago and it's quite interesting. I've only done 1 gate and a bit of exploring, so I can't say anything yet.... but I do have one comment.
>Exit Lv.50 gate
>accidentally run into a Lv.80 Sephiroth Manikin before putting everyone back to default levels

the main story is to short wich is a real shame :(
you an really notice they put the most in the graphics etc.
but it also makes the game a bit laggy, i asked around and i wasnt the only one with that problem.
and its a little buggy. floating weapons, losing arrows when switching area..
and through the story there werent much side-missions either.

Finished Assassin's Creed III last night, still trying to chew it over and come to a consensus on my thoughts of the ending and overall game. Guess I'll put the PS3 on the backburner and hook up the Wii to either finally play Zelda Skyward Sword or The Last Story. I think the amount of "it's mediocre" comments both games have been receiving has made me delay playing either of them.

On handheld, I'm finishing up Peace Walker on the PSP which has been a long and strangely annoying process for me. I just don't think MGS works on a handheld. After that, part of me was hoping to finally start playing Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together but I'm also incredibly hesitant cause this game has been getting so much praise from people lately that I feel I'm going to walk away a bit disappointed if it doesn't just blow my mind, so I may hold off until the hyperbole around here ends and just finish Persona 2 and 3 instead.

Currently trying to best the Feral Chaos Manikin in Dissidia Duodecim 000 storyline. I'm building up my army... sadly one of my favorite characters is in-viable for the battle against him, and I suck at fighting this guy too.
I currently have...

Lv. 100 Firion (Solid option, lots of viable Brv ~> Hp attacks, and can snipe from the top of the stage with his bow)
Lv. 100 Cloud (Omnislash Brv. to Hp link, need I say more?)
Lv. 100 Warrior of Light (Easy Brv. to HP links... and shield of light may potentially be useful)
Lv. 100 Gabranth (Sadly my weakest link for this fight)
Lv. 100 Vaan (May actually use him in the fight... didn't think he'd be viable until I thought it over. Windburst and Torrent spam may just put a dent on the guy... or get me killed)
Lv. 100 Emperor (FCs massive size makes him near unable to dodge his traps, and if I can keep level headed he could be very useful... even w/o starfall spamming)
Lv. 100 Kain (Could possibly be amazing, but very easy to screw it up/quite reliant on a decent assist... which I can't choose for the match)

Sadly, gabranth is nearly entirely useless in the battle, due to his strength being in building up high amounts of brave (and after a set time brave attacks do 0 damage to FC), not to mention the 8 or so seconds it takes for him to be able to even use HP attacks, so I may mass level Terra/Yuna/Bartz so I can just cheese that fight and get on with the game.

One of my friends said he was downloading that earlier today (well, technically last night). I decided to download it myself when I got home since it's F2P and everything, although I also fail miserably at FPS games. But hey, I figured there will probably be enough people in a single game that nobody would notice a single nooblord like myself dying left and right anyway.

Just finished MGS4. This was definitely not a good as I remembered it to be.

First of all, the controls are way too complicated to make the player act or feel like a legendary soldier. Second, jesus the pacing is off. I finally understand why people say Kojima is the exact opposite of a poet: he barely says anything with seemingly an infinite amount of words. The points that do matter (and there's a lot of meaningful stuff in all MGS games) like the war economy, ID control, information control, manipulating the masses, trading human lives for profits and the corrupt monetary system all drown in the jibberish that surround them (like Raiden's emo story about rain or lightning or whatever the tit that was about). And don't forget they make you watch cutscenes featuring only Snake choking/smoking for minutes, or the beast bosses scream/laugh for way way way too long.

It could've been a real eye-opener to everyone, but damn they've made it hard to understand the core of the story.

The happy ending is obviously ridiculous. The long hard journey the main characters make loses all impact when everyone shows up happily after losing both arms, getting crushed by a colossal ship or taking 2 full magazines to the chest. Raiden should've died. Meryl should've died. Johnny should've died. Snake should've died.

Even though they pulled some cool tricks gameplay wise to actually trigger some emotion (like the final corridor and the final fistfight), these brief moments definitely do not outshine the tedious amounts of slug that's in between. I will not be playing this again anytime soon.

Now I'll return to the one and only true path of Dark Souls. Which barely speaks a word and still goes deeper than anything I ever played. Thank you for listening.

Finally started playing Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword. I just finished the first forest temple and met Giraheim or whatever he's called. So far I have mixed feelings about the game. The plot hasn't quite grabbed me like Twilight Princess' story did and so far the overuse of the Wii Motion controls have made the puzzles a bit underwhelming. I also can't stand flying. The world is very interesting and I like the idea that for once, the legendary mythical land is actually you're homeland so that's an amusing angle. It's still fun and quirky. I like they kind of lampshade that it's the 25th anniversary for the series within the story, yet I can't shake how much I felt Twilight Princess was better. Midna is still the best companion Link ever got stuck with, whereas Fi is just kind of there, and she's been taking lessons from Navi on how to be annoying and useless about information.

I also feel it's weird cause the game is harder in some ways, and yet I feel like they designed it to be easier, probably to compensate for the full Wii Controls. I'll keep going along but me thinks I may be switching over to The Last Story not too long from now. I've also been finishing up a file of FFTactics.

It probably won't blow your mind, it's just more of what you've come to expect from Matsuno and his close circle, and it's their latest project.

I've been replaying it myself down the Lawful story path (Chaos the first time) and between coming across another one of the very challenging battles and having a ton of new classes that need some grinding, I'm probably gonna put it to the side for a few days.

I booted up Oblivion last night to check out my file and I came to the same hard realization that stopped me from playing Fallout 3 after the Vault - I really couldn't possibly care less about any of the quests in my quest log. I need to get back to the main story, but I was a little underlevelled, which put me on the whole sidequest kick for a bit. Still, the mods have been glorious and make it very nice to play.

Despite being a hardcore mega dudebro extreme who only cares about his Kill : Death ratio and how many prestige levels he has, I actually put multiplayer aside and started the campaign in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. I'm actually pretty impressed. The 1980's flashbacks are just more of the same as the first game: gritty and awesome, but I've already been through all that. The main 2025 story is pretty glorious. It's a lot like that AAA blockbuster, best of the best you'd come to expect from an Uncharted - really awesome game moments you're glad to have been a part of. All of the changes they've brought like branching storylines, customizable equipment and the Strike Force missions have been appreciated, and the narrative is actually really emotional. I give Treyarch a solid A for this one.

I've been thinking hopping back into Guild Wars 2 is long overdue, just have to motivate myself to do it...

Zimos is the best character. I wanted to take him on every mission for the rest of the game just for his hilarious voice.

I just started playing the Warband mod "Prophesy of Pendor", and I'm more excited about getting stuck into it than I have been about a game for ages. I highly recommend it to people who like challenging medieval fantasy games with excellent combat. :D

I'm playing 2 games at the moment, first up is:

Resonance of Fate, whilst not going to win any awards for the most amazing game ever this is a fairly enjoyable JRPG with traditional turn based combat (even if the turns work more like Star Ocean combat than anything else) I'm impressed by the level of customization of the characters (outfits, hair colour, eye colour all are editable due to the way the inventory system works) and the way weapons are levelled individually so having a person skilled in the use of handguns doesn't mean they're going to be god with a machine gun too. I find the meta game for "repairing" Bezel (the location of the game) to be at times infuriating (since it works on a tile placement game where you cannot break certain rules) but mostly a pretty novel way of doing things, still early days though if anything the old adage of "you must save regularly" is even more important since continuing when defeated in battle costs cash.

I'm also playing Minecraft 360 edition. Dan, Paul and myself had fun tonight exploring a map named after my glorious hair. Somehow it went from being what we thought would be a terrible realm to essentially the absolute motherlode! We basically decided we'd break the golden rule of minecraft and dig straight down to see what happens. Turns out what happens is me and Dan find ourselves a massively awesome cave system what has EVERYTHING in. Cue awesome team work to start excavating our new found riches.

For some reason I've been playing quite a bit of Star Trek Online. I assume it's because I get to fly starships around.

Also playing quite a bit of Natural Selection 2 (highly recommended) and Uncharted 3 co-op with my sister and her fiancee.

Just Started and Finished the original Legend of Zelda since Skyward Sword keeps making me in the mood to play it. Took it down in just a few hours and I only cheated once cause Death Mountain dungeon is bullshit. Now to try and finish Skyward Sword...

Fallout: New Vegas, decked out with mods I've seen recommended. I got kinda burned out on FO3 after a while but playing this takes me back to the feeling I got when I first started on it. The story and environment is great so far and I like how they changed some of the mechanics (iron sights are fun). Really looking forward to putting time into this.

pokemon platinum, about to finish it though ("finishing" a pokemon game to me just requires beating the main storyline & e4 & champ)

next for me: maybe pokemon heartgold or soulsilver or black or white, assuming my computer doesn't cry about trying to emulate and play at turbo speed (my computer is weak but manages D/P/Pt just fine). I'd lean more towards b/w cause while gen2 is my favorite gen and a 4th gen remake would be awesome i've also played g/s/c about a million times and it's not balanced as well as it could be so it gets a little stale

or i'll play a final fantasy game LOLZ (one of the NES ones maybe, though i really really need to play through V)

I bought a 3 month Playstation Plus membership so I got a new games for free (kinda). Recently I've completed Infamous 2 and the Borderlands 2 Captain Scarlett DLC (very underwhelmed by it sadly). Playing Crysis 2 as well, probably one of the most enjoyable FPS games I have ever played.

Started playing Skyborn. An old school looking RPG from this BigFish Games thing, seems like a steam-esque download service. The description referenced Led from Septerra Core, so I had to try this out. here's hoping its worth the two bucks!

I just started playing Soul Silver! I got the ROM from CoolRoms, and the emulator is DeSmuMe. On standard settings with no skips, it's a tiny bit choppy, but hasn't glitched. As I added frame skips, it started freezing at screen transitions (leaving buildings, wild fights etc.). However, turboing it up with the button works fine (mine is set to Space), and while it is, of course, more jumpy, it's not glitching at all. Very playable.

I tried SoulSilver but then it froze in a battle (I think this is a not-unheard of issue) so rather than restarting or trying HG I was just like "screw it I've played gen2" and started playing Black instead. which seems to run better than d/p/pt even. o_O i guess my computer's not the load of ass i've been making it out to be

My coworker got and played through Revelations on the heels of me playing ACII. He was pretty disappointed with it, which seems to be the consensus.

After finishing Skyward Sword, I felt compelled to play Ocarina of Time again cause I found Skyward Sword to be somewhat underwhelming and I'm still debating which is the weaker 3D entry. OoT has not aged well at all and it may have my least favorite sets of dungeons in the franchise but I'm still having fun. I hope to finally start playing The Last Story before Christmas, and it may happen cause I've reached the Spirit Temple in OoT.

Geez, I thought I'd stumbled into the Pokemon thread for a moment.

I haven't found a decent DS emulator, but I'll look into it at some point. If only so I can screen cap/record my games.

I got really into Planescape: Torment last night after realizing that I was just torturing myself by trying to play it with a trackpad. It's about a bajillion times better with a real mouse.

I mean I should have realized, but I was really committed to just playing it on my laptop.

Picked up a used copy of Hitman: Blood Money after strolling some forums and deciding between this and Absolution. It's actually a puzzle/stealth game. It's sneaky. I like it. :shifty:

But I still play Dark Souls too. Shh!

On PC: FF7 (PS1 version). Doing a critical analysis of the game, taking notes step by step on whatever details catch my eyes. Enjoying the game more than any other FF so far, I think.
