Haha it was Greatest Hits by the time I was competent enough to play it!

I was four when it came out, so no I don't feel old.

The game is still one of my top ten.

I remember my dad brought this game home one day not long after it came out and we sat and played it together (as in I watched him play and told him where to go) for at least an hour. He eventually lost interest in it and I started playing it like a mad child. I had beaten it in time for me to see that VIII was coming out and I got it the day that it was released as well, my estranged grandfather "bought it for me". With the exception of IX, I got every FF as a gift until XI came out and I wasn't old enough to pay the monthly subscription. I must have been 8 or 9 when this game came out and it is weird looking back and thinking about the games I played as a child and the games my brother played as he grew up (we are eight years apart).

Ah memories... VII helped me get through some pretty angsty and depressive years of my teenage life (and so did VIII, IX and X).

I feel like playing it again for nostalgia's sake, but they won't let me buy the damned PC version!

Whilst IX is my favourite, this is definitely a game I hold close to my heart even though I've drifted away from it in my adulthood.

I played it maybe a year or so after it first game out, when I was about 11. A friend of mine got it first, and I watched him play it after he had gotten to disc 3. I thought it was cool enough that I tried it out for myself.

The reason I bought a Playstation was for FFVII (and because I knew Metal Gear Solid was coming). I bought them both the day it came out, and didn't regret it a bit. Not my favorite in the series, but a great introduction and great memories!

Probably my third favorite in the series, I played it when I was about ten when it magically showed for $15 in a record store at a mall. The game still leave an impression on me to this day. I love it.

Anyone else surprised they didn't announce some god awful addition to the complication such as dirge of Cerberus 2 or Barrets Adventure or yuffies yiffie experience?
