Stephane D'Astous, the General Manager at Eidos Montreal has said: "We're handling a precious gemstone with Thief. Fans remember the original games very fondly and we want to preserve that essence." He also spoke about how important it is to bring Thief to the brand new, next-gen gamers.
The original Thief was released in 1998, and marked a change in gaming. Described as being a 'first-person sneaker' game, it was massively popular for being so different to other games that were available at the time. Now, with so many gaming technologies at the disposal of the creator, it makes you wonder just how they're going to reboot this game, and just how they'll make it stand out from currently popular games of a similar genre like Assassin's Creed.
Following the paramount success of Square-Enix's latest reboot, Tomb Raider, I think it's fair to say that fans of Thief shouldn't be too worried...
