New Benchmark for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn with Character Creation

It's a shame the only class in the Benchmark is Paladin. I want to see what the levelling gear looked like for other classes and jobs

Yeah, it would be more potential for entertainment if you could see all the different artifact armors. But maybe they're still tweaking them for other classes, or at least not finished implementing them into the character creation tool.

Yeah, I was really hoping we'd get to see all the other artifact armor. It would have helped me decide between Lalafel and Roegadyn.

Also, my benchmark score is 8435 on maximum at 1920 X 1080.

Nope, just there is a character creation tool in the benchmark.

Players datamined the crap out of this benchmark already, and it's revealed some pretty interesting stuff. All of arcanist/scholar/summoner's skills have been revealed as well as some significant changes to existing abilities for other classes/jobs. A compiled list of all these changes and updates can be found on reddit.

There was a lot of re-balancing of the classes. MNK got nerfed a bit in the base potency of their abilities, but it now has MRD as a class for cross-class-skills instead of GLD, which offers a bit more in the way of useful damage abilities. Similarly, DRG lost ARC and gained MRD. This should put both MNK and DRG on equal footing (DRG was a clear favorite because of how powerful combinations of some of the ARC abilities with LNC/DRG abilities were). CNJ/WHM also got a buff across the board with the potency of all of their healing spells, which is nice.

Final Fantasy XIV : A Realm Reborn (FFXIV ARR) Database has also updated with new weapons. Most notable additions are the Allagan weapons and armor, which are presumably drops from Bahamut. They are now among the most powerful weapons and armor in the game (item level 90). Relic weapons have been readjusted to item level 80, but +1 versions (item level 90) have been revealed, as well as +1 versions of artifact armor.

Edit: It's worth noting that SE has been running around with C&D orders having sites take down data mined from the benchmark. Consequently, XIVDB has rolled back to phase 3 data. Kind of a bummer, but it'll all be back up as soon as phase four rolls around anyway.

I like your second and third ladies best, Raine. The third I think looks best if you're going to play a kind of mage, she just seems like she'd be a magic user, I'm not sure why!

I think I'll use both of these two for sure, I just don't know who to make my main... I love them both! I'll be using a bard/archer at first, and I kind of like the Hyur for my Dragoon but... she's just so BAMF.

Here are some others I made playing around, though this girl Miqo'te might replace the other since she is growing on me more and more. The Lallafel I'll use if I make a mage, and who knows if/what I'll use this smexy man as.

You know you only need to make one character for all the jobs, right, TQ? =o Making different characters for each of the classes sounds like a lot of work, as if you want to have highly effective jobs then you need to level up other jobs on the same character too (since they borrow actions from each other). For example, I leveled up my white mage a bit so that my Paladin could use Raise and Protect etc.

Not saying not to do it... just making sure you're aware.

I know, I'm just an alt-a-holic.

My Bard will be my main who might dabble in the others classes for things it needs, but I put a lot of thought in to everyone's personality once I start playing so I just can't warrant using one character for all the jobs simply because I'll get all weird about it not making sense etc.

I'm really torturing myself since I'm fairly positive that I'm not going to be able to play this, but I've tinkered around with the character creation enough that I think I've come up with what my hypothetical character would be if I did play. I even came up with a name! "Ro'Kenta Nunh".
