• The History of SquareSoft - From Square One to Final Fantasy

What do Apple 2 computers, DOG, a power line construction company called Den-Yu-Sha and a guy by the surname of Miyamoto have in common? No, this isn't the story of how the Mario Bros. came to be. This is a story of SquareSoft's early days, of the dark distant past of space-age erotica games like Alpha and celebrity cash-ins like Hearthbreak Highschool. All The Bravest has nothing on this.

Join YouTuber Joshua Drew as he takes you on a journey from SquareSoft's unconvential conception to the point where they reluctantly gambled it all on a little something called Final Fantasy.

    Part One: Square One

    Part Two: Final Fantasy

Joshua is currently working on Part Three, so in Square's now infamous words "please look forward to it."

Watched the first episode. Will finish with the second one later (may show the girlfriend, if interested, before finishing). But that was pretty informative. And fantastic. Looking forward to the rest

Pretty interesting, though the second video is pretty redundant with the first.

It was redundant for sure, but better than the last one I watched about Square. They deserve a good documentary, they went from zero to hero and it's amazing to see how fast. I was reading an old SNES top 20 list, and Square had claim to 6 games out of the top 20...pretty insane compared to how close they came to dying off in the 80's.

I liked how the concept of Final Fantasy is the final chance to make it or break it, and I found it interesting how they came from.
      Can't wait for part 3!!
