• Final Fantasy XV demo announced for 2015 with Type-0 release date

The announcement of a Final Fantasy XV demo arriving in 2015 has spread like wild fire! Game Informer broke the news this morning in an article that has since been deleted, leaving many to speculate why it was taken down so quickly. It's worth pointing out that Game Informer is a long running reputable website, so even if you want to take this news with a grain of salt for the moment, it may just be worth getting your hopes up.

According to Game Informer, Square Enix is calling the demo "Episode Duscae". It will take place in an early part of the game's story that lets players "see some opening sections of the game in action" with slight modifications to make it more suitable for a demo experience.

A voucher for the demo will be available with the release of Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, rumored to be released on March 17th. It's still unclear at this time how soon the demo will be available after you receive the voucher.

Here's a screencap of the now deleted Game Informer article, as seen on Kotaku (click to enlarge):

There was another games site which claimed FFXV was going to be released next year in March. Naturally it was BS. How reliable a source is Game Informer? Because at this point I wouldn't believe it until Square announced it themselves.

Despite this news spreading like wild fire, every article leads back to the same Game Informer article (which has been deleted) as a source. I'm cautiously optimistic, waiting for it to be reuploaded in a more official capacity.

It`s called "Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae"

A voucher code for Final Fantasy XV Episode Duscae -- a playable demo of FFXV -- will be included in each copy of Type-0. According to the report, Episode Duscae will allow players to "see some of the opening scenes in action," although "some elements of the progression will be altered in order to make it more suitable for a demo experience."
      That`s from IGN:http://ca.ign.com/articles/2014/09/1...leases-in-2015

And yeah, they link back to the GI piece as well. Game Informer get's HUGE game scoops from time to time, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's true! Be hopeful I guess.

Woke up to see this news. I was thinking "I bet someone at eoff already found it" yup.

If type 0 is out in march at least I got my prediction somewhat right saying spring of next year for a new game!

This demo has unfortunately the problem that it still does not come out before Type Zero so I am not sure how good those news are. It does probably mean that half a year later the release is done though.

From what I heard the demo may not actually be released with Type-0 in march. It's just that those who buy Type-0 will get access to the demo, whenever it's released.

GI is pretty reputable. My guess is that they took the article down because they put it up too early.

It really shows how slow FFXV is going when we get excited about a demo being released in a year. The more exciting news is the March release of Type-0!

I am skeptical. I think it would have been announced from a legit Square source by now do they could rake in the press from fans if this was truly going to happen.

I think Game Informer is pretty trustworthy. I'm just excited that we've got a release date for Type-0, assuming this is true.

I thought this was a joke at first, b/c I seriously read it as "Final Fantasy XV Episode Douche"

Which pretty well sums up how I feel about the FFXV team.

Extremely reliable. I've never seen them report anything that turned out to be wrong. They're owned by GameStop, so it only makes sense that they get this type of news before anyone else regularly. It's probably been deleted because someone hit the publish button too early before SE formally announced it.

Then again there's a first time for everything, and nothing surprises me anymore when it comes to misguiding FFXV news.

Square was probably not ready to announce the demo, so they bullied GI into taking the story down. Now Square is going to punish all of us by delaying the demo until TBA.
