• Final Fantasy XV currently playable from start to finish

Over at the official Final Fantasy XV forums, programmer Kitade has stated that pre-beta for Final Fantasy XV has finished. This mean the game is playable from start to finish and its first half is completed in its entirety.

“We’re at the point where we can play the game in its entirety from start to finish,” Kitade said. “From this, everyone on the development team can get an overall view on the game.”

At this point they are just polishing everything to make it into its final form. Kitade even went on to say the entire first half of the game is essentially up to par with its final state. They'll be polishing the gameplay and content to make sure it comes out at its highest standard.

Final Fantasy XV is slated to come out in 2016. Square Enix plans to announce an official release date at an event in March 2016.

This means we're close! Super close now, EoFFers! Are you excited?

The most basic part of a game is developing it to the point that you can play it from start to finish?

I'm sorry, this must have been the first time I've exaggerated on this forum. It's understandable that you're not used to it .

Even if they did add female party members they wouldn't be playable, because Noctis. But I get where you're coming from
