Final Fantasy XII turns 10!

Great game, an underrated entry in the franchise. Characters and plot were a bit uninspired, particularly towards the later stages of the game, but the game world is incredible. Battle system was hugely ahead of its time.

Funnily enough, I thought Larsa was better than most of the main characters. He's surely the best "child" character in the FF franchise!

Silly parts of the battle system were ironed out in IZJS, so really looking forward to the inevitable HD remaster. Hopefully it'll be announced at E3 this year.

NOW can we have a remake, SE?

I started to really love this game when I played IZJS. I won't be able to return to the regular game ever again.

Best memory would have to be facing the Trial Mode. So much fun.

A nice underrated game that inspired many of the better JRPGs to come out in the last few years. Definitely ahead of it's time. Outside of a few hiccups here and there in the design, I feel it's easily the best game SE has released with the FF Moniker on it and pretty much the last good entry I'm willing to play.

It ain't hitting ten for me until it's Halloween.

The first time I played it and I got to this place I hated (can't remember what it was called, but I'd know it if I saw it) and I just really didn't enjoy the game at all.

Second time I got a ways through and enjoyed it, but then I moved and it's still in storage. I hope to play it again someday.

Love me some Rogue Tomato, though.

It seems so odd that the 12th game in the series came out a decade ago. That's nearly half the amount of time I have been a fan of the series. I love XII, and I hope we get ourselves a FFX style remaster soon.

Tied with X-2 as the best battle system in the series. Love those gambits! I really want to play this again someday. I never got to beat the basement level of the Pharos. I'll never fight Yiazamat. That trout sounds frustrating.

So we've only had one main, numbered entry in the last ten years? Man...

I've actually got a copy of FFXII and a working PS2 so I can fire it up any time. I've got other FF titles to work through before that though and by that time... the remaster will be out. Maybe.

FFXII. IMO its the best of the modern era.

Hands down, my favorite game. I got to play a bit of IZJS, but not enough. Hoping for an official western release of that game soon, HD or not. Put it on Steam or the Wii U, just bring it here!

I pretty much have a tradition, starting a few years ago, of starting it up every fall. I haven't beat it since I first got it, though. Hopefully, I'll get to play more this year & do it again.

Having came into the Final Fantasy series in 2002 and playing FFX first, I fee like I am a late-comer to the franchise even after 14 years. Final Fantasy XII was the 1st and really only game I've ever been insanely excited about its release. The countdown from a year, to the final months and weeks was excruciatingly painful yet exciting as the date drew near. I'll always remember the amount of hours and fun I put in on FFXII, and still to this day it is one of my favorites in the series. Crazy it's been 10 years.

I can't believe I hated this game the first time I played it. It just gets better every time. Easily my 3rd favourite FF.

Give me a goddamn HD remake already!

Bumping this thread because we just had the anniversary of the game's ten year anniversary release in North America. Also, this game deserves to be talked about more.

I'm sure there'll be more talking once Zodiac Age comes out :P

Perhaps, but I don't foresee XII getting quite the fanfare the FFX HD remake had. Of anything, we'll still be talking about FFXV and possibly the ill-timed announcement of FFXV-2: Stella's Revenge.
