• New World of Fantasy Trailer & Day One Edition News

Just before E3, Square Enix released a new trailer for the upcoming World of Final Fantasy (aka Final Fantasy: Chibi Quest). Here we see more of our favorite characters, including Quistis and Squall of Final Fantasy VIII, Cloud of Final Fantasy VII, and Tidus of Final Fantasy X pulling off his Blitz Ace Overdrive. It's also being reported that when people pre-order the "Day One" edition of the game, they will have access to a Sephiroth summon. The game is set for release in North America on October 25, and in Japan and Europe October 27 and 28 respectively on the Playstation 4 and Vita systems.

To add to the link DM shared, Square wants to make figurines of all the Mirages, which I'm sure is going to drive many of us (Matt & Shauna for sure) into the poor house.

Also, this game is going to be over 100 hours? Why?
I genuinely think they get the name wrong in the localisations. The Japanese is バラム. "baramu". Dunno where the heck "Balomb" came from.

Of course there are other scenarios where the original is DEFINITELY WRONG. *cough* Tidus *cough*

I'm sorry to be a Debbie Downer here but this game doesn't appeal to me whatsoever.

What's wrong with having a 100 hour game? I am fine with it as long as it's not all just boring padding.

Well, I have a lisp, so I'm going to mispronounce names no matter how you pronounce them.

We should all go replay Dirge of Cerberus in preparation for this game coming out.

Given the art style I think it'd be more appropriate to play Kingdom Hearts.

nah kingdom hearts is cute, fun, & quirky, this looks more like marketing for Pop Vinyl figures... just buy a bunch of Pop Vinyl figures and act it out with them, i'm sure they'll start cranking them out of the production line as the game release gets closer, this game is practically begging for a Pop Vinyl collection with it's art style being identical...

Yeah, KH kinda has a different style

I'm still clamoring over the 100 hours thing. I wouldn't imagine them spending that much money on a spinoff.

RPGs have become longer, and 100 hours isn't really that much effort. Also, just because it's a spin off doesn't mean they're gonna half-ass it. The production values look decent and they are clearly trying to hype people up with all these cameos

I've been working in indie for a while and making just a 7 hour long game can be extremely time consuming and costly, emphasis on the costly.

And SE is a gargantuan company with not only many times the budget of an indie company, but also a lot more employees

Looks like I have another game to pre-order. October 28th? This year's releases (that I am interested in) are really spacing themselves out damned near perfectly.

I just mean the two main kids when fully grown look similar to the kids from KH.

Because that's Tetsuya Nomura. When not doing the realistic FF thing, this is how he draws characters nowadays

yeah, he's way into Disney, but it looks like Pop Vinyl caught his attention this time around... as his normal and Disney styles went minimal in favor of this Pop Vinyl style he's putting front & center... i hope this game gets it out of his system, i'd hate to see an actual FF look like that...
