Final Fantasy has been postponed for another two months, until November 29th. Whether this is good news or bad is up to the fans. The team has stated that this release date change is them wanting to avoid releasing a first day patch as they feel the game is not up to the standard it should be.

Today, is the 26th anniversary of the US release of the original Final Fantasy on the Nintendo Entertainment System. It’s hard to believe that the game has been around so long, and in so many incarnations. Since the original release in December 1987 in Japan, there’s been over a dozen re-releases, starting with the MSX release in 1989, which improved the sound and colorization. The US release was pretty faithful to the Famicom version, albeit with a single save file on battery (the MSX version saved files on blank floppy disks, so you could store as many as you wanted), and with more technical limitations. There was, as well, Nintendo of America’s censorship, which prohibited use of religious iconography (such as churches, crosses, etc.). Despite all of that, the NES version of Final Fantasy was a very solid game.

Final Fantasy XV made an appearance at this year's Microsoft press conference today and the demonstration this time around is a boss fight against the summon Titan. This demo honestly made the game look very rough. The battle looked negatively chaotic with camera jump and angles that obscured your vision, not to mention the stream repeatedly took third person shots of the gameplay. When Noctis was clearly visible on screen, Ignus, and the others weren't. There wasn't indication of damage infliction either. This demo was not impressive and hopefully Square Enix has something better to show for the game this week.
Just before E3, Square Enix released a new trailer for the upcoming World of Final Fantasy (aka Final Fantasy: Chibi Quest). Here we see more of our favorite characters, including Quistis and Squall of Final Fantasy VIII, Cloud of Final Fantasy VII, and Tidus of Final Fantasy X pulling off his Blitz Ace Overdrive. It's also being reported that when people pre-order the "Day One" edition of the game, they will have access to a Sephiroth summon. The game is set for release in North America on October 25, and in Japan and Europe October 27 and 28 respectively on the Playstation 4 and Vita systems.
