After years of speculation of when Square-Enix would reveal details on the
Thief reboot, fans of the series will be very excited to hear that it has been confirmed to be hitting the PlayStation 4 and other next-gen consoles in 2014.
Stephane D'Astous, the General Manager at Eidos Montreal has said: "We're handling a precious gemstone with Thief. Fans remember the original games very fondly and we want to preserve that essence." He also spoke about how important it is to bring Thief to the brand new, next-gen gamers.
The original
Thief was released in 1998, and marked a change in gaming. Described as being a 'first-person sneaker' game, it was massively popular for being so different to other games that were available at the time. Now, with so many gaming technologies at the disposal of the creator, it makes you wonder just how they're going to reboot this game, and just how they'll make it stand out from currently popular games of a similar genre like
Assassin's Creed.
