Karl Stewart, the global brand director of Crystal Dynamics revealed that there would not be a demo released for the new Tomb Raider. He announced the news earlier this week on his Twitter page.

"There are no plans to release a demo of the game pre-launch. We don't want to spoil the story..."

He hinted at a strong narrative in later tweets, which sound promising for the expectant fans; "We've weaved such a personal story we don't believe spoiling it by having you wait a week or so to play on." He also added that there would be "no season or online pass"

It's not all bad news for the fans, the television spot for the game has been released, with bonus content being offered for those who pre-order the game with certain retailers. These bonuses are retailer specific; with different outfits, bonus locations and puzzles. Pre-ordering from Amazon.com will get you exclusive Kindle Fire content, and an Amazon edition of "The Art of Tomb Raider" - a 32-page art book by art director Brian Horton.

As we near the release of the beta version of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, the development team is hard at work making changes and adding content. One of those changes is the passage of time.

In the alpha version of FFXIV, there was only one time of day: high noon. But now the world of Eorzea experiences nighttime as well, and the development team has posted all-new screenshots of Gridania at night. ...

Eyes on Final Fantasy had a unique opportunity to once again be invited by Square Enix, thanks to community manager Robert Peeler, to preview another entry in the Nova Crystallis saga. Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII was shown to us in all its shining glory. We spoke with Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Motuma Toriyama for an in-depth look at this upcoming game.

In the first entry in a few series of articles about our visit, we’ll be discussing the trailer and the hands-off demo we witnessed. Combined with Toriyama and Kitase’s commentary, we had a first hand glimpse at the game and its new style.

Although the trailer was leaked early, we saw the full HD version of it with details from Kitase and Toriyama. We found out that the graphics in the video are not polished as you may be able to tell. They were more focused on the gameplay than on the graphics at the moment. Hoping to have the gameplay polished first, they wanted to show the major differences of the game for the fans.

Apparently more excited than Del Murder, I started to scribble notes like crazy. They gave us our own small note books and this Editor actually ran out of paper after using the front and back of the small notebook. Even during the ...

New details regarding Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII have emerged from the latest edition of VJump.

The big story is an all new character going by the name of Lumina. Her appearance is quite similar to a gothic lolita Serah. The character shows up from time to time and the article describes her as both a helper and a hinderance to Lightning and that she seems more than happy to toy with Lightning as a result. Not much more is known about her at this point in time though.

The magazine also went on to provide some details about the "Wear" system which involves the costumes Lightning can equip. Lightning can have up to three of these costumes equipped at once and change them in real time during the course of the Battle. Each costume has it's own ATB bar that continues to charge during the course of the battle so it seems like a very effective way of condensing XIII's staple Paradigm Shift system into a single character gameflow.

If you noticed a couple of outfits in the Jump Festa trailer than you may be wondering what ...

The new Final Fantasy game is indeed Final Fantasy All the Bravest, for iOS devices, a spinoff combat-only title. It hit the New Zealand iTunes store a couple hours ago. Square Enix had said to expect an announcement on this tomorrow. Well, it's already tomorrow in New Zealand.

All the Bravest uses the Active Time Battle system popularized by older Final Fantasy games. "Every character possesses an ATB gauge that displays the time remaining until that character can execute an action," the description says. "When the gauge is full, simply tap or drag your finger over the character to attack. Touch multiple characters in quick succession to experience exhilarating and fast-paced battle." ...

Yup that's right, another teaser site. Square Enix loves their teasers! So what are they teasing this time? Well we're not sure. From their RSS feed that was sent out to well anyone who has them RSS'd they had the headline of " – ( ・ω・)=つ≡つ 2013.1.17 ⊂≡⊂=(・ω・ )."

Now they've said before that they were going to put Final Fantasy V on iOS,so it's likely to be that but, thanks to Siliconera, they've figured out what sprites are what! ...

Earlier today, When asked by a fan on twitter if there would be any news about the Final Fantasy X HD remake for the PS3 and Vita, Square Enix's Europe Division (posted by Hachima Kiko) replied with a “The world will get answers soon, we promise.”

Now a soon isn't much but it's more than what has been heard in a long while. While it's not a full remake, more of a remastering, FFX is one of the fan favorites that many are more than eager to hear any news about. Many were introduced into the series due to FFX on the PS2, much like how FFVII was the introduction for fans during the PSone era. Some even say that because of FFX, the ps2 was able to put it's foothold in for jrpgs.

The remastering was mentioned back in 2011 and hasn't been heard from since. When the fan asked he specifically asked about FFX being available on the vita and if it was ever going to come out. He must have been over joyed seeing as his reply to SE was accompanied with an emoticon. Here at Eyeson staff, I too am full of ...

If you thought that Square Enix's Luminous Engine would revolutionize every gaming studio's work, like unreal did, then you're mistaken. US CEO, Mike Fischer told Shack News, "This is an in-house tool. We're not building this around a licensing model." That's right, the beautiful Tech Demo we all saw, Agni's Philosophy, will be exclusive to Square Enix.

Seeing as how SE has recently been branching out with all types of different franchises, such as the recent Hitman: Absolution and the soon to be released Tomb Raider, we will see this engine at work on other titles as well. More and more companies are being merged with Square Enix so it could be a possibility to use this to entice others. Fischer went on to say, "It's my hope that this makes teams and creative people around the world excited to work for us because they'll get their hands on some of the best technology in the industry."

Rumored to be on the Xbox 720 and the PS4, which may be coming out this year, the Luminous engine could make everything drip ...

It is now 2013, and so, as we previously announced, the Final Fantasy XIV 1.0 servers have been shut for good. Now we can only wait for the beta and the promise of the relaunch.

Naoki Yoshida, producer for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, posted a Happy New Year’s message today on The Lodestone. In short, he promises that no effort will be spared to make ARR a great game. He also urged everyone to mark Janaury 7th on our calendars, but would not say for what. Beta tester applications? The anticipated benchmark? A new trailer? All of the above??? We’ll have to wait and see.

Yoshi-P also threw in the following artwork:

You might be wondering what that little purple thing is on the end. Well according to a new post on the developer’s blog, it looks like ARR will include baby behemoths – that are way less scary more cute than their grown counterparts. Here’s some more artwork from the developer’s blog:

Aw, how cute! I’m sure it’ll be at least a year before this little thing could viciously slaughter

Square Enix has released a gameplay trailer for their new upcoming title "Gyrozetter". Gyrozetter is a game that is anime meets transformers, that will be released on the 3DS. It's hard to make out exactly how the game will play from this trailer, but there appears to be a world-traversal mode where you control a human boy. There is also an exploration mode where you play as the mech being able to transform into a hot rod whenever you'd like. ...

A new video of alpha footage was released for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn. This time we get to take a look at instanced dungeons. Check it out below!

The players here are taking on the Tam-Tara Deepcroft. The video shows the group exploring the dungeon, taking on a variety of foes with the new fast-paced and dynamic battle system, and conquering the dungeon's challenges to keep going deeper. The atmosphere in particular looks great, with the lighting and shadows making it really look like the party is in an underground dungeon.

According to the FFXIV Community Rep who posted the video, this is the last video in the Alpha First Look series. The videos haven’t shown much in the way of content, as the alpha test does not have most of the content available. But they did a great job of showing just how committed the development team has been to remaking the entire game for the better: from the interface to crafting to the battle system. Final Fantasy XIV has truly been remade from the ground up, and so far looks ...

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn producer Naoki Yoshida issued his 40th Letter from the Producer today as 2012 and ARR’s alpha test draw to a close.

Yesterday, the FFXIV development team released the beta roadmap for ARR, and, as I pointed out then, the roadmap is a ways behind schedule. Responding to that lateness, Yoshi-P said that it is because the development team is holding itself to high standards, and not allowing itself to sacrifice quality for expediency – which is what caused the original FFXIV’s disastrous launch. He asked that the players continue to bear with him.

Yoshi-P also noted that the development team is already making changes to ARR based on player feedback from the alpha test. I look forward to seeing some of those changes in action in the beta.

2012 closed the door on the troubled history of Final Fantasy XIV 1.0. As we move into 2013, there is, for perhaps the first time in this game’s history, a future filled with promise. We will have to see if A Realm Reborn ...
