Is it really June already? Where's the year gone!? Summer has started and the long summer solstice has been and gone for another year and we're probably all enjoying kicking back in the summer weather. However it's not all work and play and whilst we started the climb last month we still have a battle to round out before we can really relax.

The trailer for Final Fantasy Tactics S is here! What you didn't know there was a new Tactic game coming out? Well, check out the video first and we'll tell you all about it!
If you didn't know, Square Enix has been working on bringing the Final Fantasy Tactics series back so you can once again join the world of Ivalice. This time though it'll be a social game. Now now, don't groan just yet. You can create clans with your friends to expand your group. Up to nine players can be on the field which happens to be a little flat. This most likely is from the fact that it is a mobile game. You can choose to spend gil on gear and recruiting more members. You get it through a series of quests.
There will be over 300 jobs for you to choose from but two new ones have recently been added. The Air Samurai and the Musician.
Mobage is in charge of this game and seeing as their parent company, DeNA, was the one to localize the previously super fun Airborne Bridage, this one might see a localization fairly soon. The game is already available in Japan

Welcome back to another addition of Final Fantasy Sexism. Last time, I looked over Final Fantasys IX and X and found them a bit, well, lacking in how women were portrayed (minus Beatrix, who was a positive, if qualified, step forward). You don’t need to remember every detail of the prior entries to know that I have found most of the Final Fantasy series lacking up until this point. This entry will focus on Final Fantasy XII and XIII. Will this finally be where Square-Enix turns things around?

Unless you happen to celebrate your birthday on March 21st it may seem like any other day of the year to you. But, did you know that it's actually the birthday of one of the most famous names attributed to the Final Fantasy franchise? The man responsible for composing countless hours of moving scores and invoking melodies. That's right; today is the birthday of Nobuo Uematsu! He's still young at age 54.
For this very special edition of Eyes on Final Fantasy Soundtracks let us take a trip down memory lane and reflect on Nobuo Uematsu's life so far.
Welcome back to the Final Fantasy Sexism series, after a bit over a month off. When we last left off, I went over the beginning of the PS1 era with Final Fantasy VII and VIII, which saw a return to the emphasis on gender roles and sexist stereotypes after the temporary improvement of Final Fantasy VI. This part will focus on the end of the PS1 era and the beginning of the PS2 games: Final Fantasys IX and X.
Remember the Bechdel Test that I referenced in Part I? The purpose of it is to criticize the use and depth of female characters in film; too often women’s roles are minimized as they revolve around more central, male characters. That principle, if not the exact test itself, can also be applied to video games, and FFIX and X are classic examples of otherwise strong female leads being minimized to fit into the classic role of love interest for the true main character.
