Starting off this week is the nice artwork of some of the cast of Square's finest game before venturing into the third dimension, Final Fantasy VI. It's quite an amazing piece of work as we can see the artist's interpretation of the characters at play.

It's the second week of our Final Fantasy Fan Art Showcase of the Week, and we have several new artworks to show off to our wonderful viewers. Ever wondered what it takes to make a fabulous masterpiece? Well wonder no more, for we have a surprise for you! Square Enix has recently released a video featuring art director Isamu Kamikokuryo with an oil painting he created for the upcoming Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII. Within the video, we will see a short clip of Kamikokuryo preparing his studio and then working on his painting. Finally at the end, we'll have a glimpse of his finished work. It's well worth the watch if you appreciate the fine artwork of Final Fantasy!

Final Fantasy Fan Art Showcase of the Week #1

Hello everyone! Agent Proto here, and I'm here to bring a new feature to Eyes on Final Fantasy. Having been a member of this site, I am pretty disappointed in seeing a severe lack of fan created works of art on this site in the more recent years, so I have decided to take it upon myself to find and display several great pieces of fan art for everyone to enjoy. As so, I do hope that you take the time to check out each artwork in this showcase and do feel free to send a comment to the artists at the linked source. I'm sure they will appreciate what you have to say about their work.

Since this would be the first of hopefully many more, I will provide a small batch of five fanart made within this last week. Such a small amount of art, but this is just the start of a wonderful thing, which I hope that you will enjoy. I may provide my own commentary or description of each, but who knows? Now for some FF fandom news! The FF fans are amazing sometimes and we get evidence of that now and again. Most times it's physical things but sometimes, sometimes it's a little different.

I don't know if you've tried it yet, like the other 30 million registered users of the game, but Minecraft is awesome! A Minecraft builder by the name of Felix Trapper has painstakingly recreated various scenes from Final Fantasy VI. If you get slapped with nostalgia, I don't blame you. I did too. Take a gander!

Let's start our trip off with the snow capped city of Narshe! It's where you first start out and it's where we'll first start out!


Too cold for you? Well lets go get sand on our boots over at the Figaro castle!


I know you might have some random battle flash backs, they have rehab for that now, but please check out Fanatic's Tower as well.


I don't know if you can actually steal people's clothes in this one but they made South Figaro too!

Crafter Yume Leona has a knack for making adorable photo frames out of Perler beads, and Final Fantasy appears to be one of her inspirations! Many of her frames are adorned with familiar characters, like the beloved Moogle and Chocobo!

It's also worth noting that she makes Kingdom Hearts frames. Chain of Memories fans will recognize the pixel art.

I mentioned in my first news update that my focus is on Final Fantasy multimedia both offline and online. What better what to combine those to than to post photos of some excellent cosplay. Cosplay has an internet reputation for being comical, as there are many unsucessful cosplay photos floating around. On this website, we'd like to focus on promoting hard working cosplayers who succeed by putting a great deal of effort in their costume and accessories. So take a seat and prepared to be amazed by these fantastic Final Fantasy cosplayers!
