• Square Enix's 'Bravely Default' to come to US and Europe

On April 17th, Nintendo announced that 3DS hit, Bravely Default - Flying Fairy would be swooping on over to the US and Europe for a release later this year. This little RPG has been immensely popular in Japan following it's 2012 release, having sold well over 300,000 copies. One can only hope it will have a similar success overseas too.

The game takes place in the land of light and shadow - Luxendarc (sounds a little bit like 'light and dark' right?) There are many other countries in this world, like Gardisra, a scenic country and Lakrika the land of wind. Follow Agnes, Tiz, Edea, and Ringabell as they travel the world - each on their own personal journey and joined together by fate. This game has been hailed as a true Final Fantasy, just without the name of course.

Bravely Default has a unique battle system, one in which players can opt to skip a turn to collect battle points. These battle points will then allow the player to use "Brave" an attack which deals several stronger attacks once they've been stored up. Also similarly to Final Fantasy, the game requires you to assign a job class to your characters. Included in the options are Black Mage, White Mage, Monk, Ninja, Chemist, and Thief. As well as jobs from Final Fantasy, Bravely Default has some unique ones of its own such as Superstar, Vampire, Devout, and Valkyrie (pictured below).

This game looks like a whole tonne of fun for fans of the RPG genre. It is a whole host of chibi, fantasy, 3D fun! With a rich world, beautiful art, and an apparent 60-70 hours of gameplay. You'd be a fool not to pick this up when it is released. I for one wish I had a 3DS to join in on this action!

Doesn't that game tell the story from different perspectives that are split? Would make sense. (I've never played the game, so I don't know for sure if that's what the story is).

What I don't get is that it's written 358/2 Days, and yet they call it 358 Days Over 2.

How does Bravely Default sound like Final Fantasy?

I know this is late, but it's called Bravely Default because of two of the mechanics during battles, Brave and Default.

Not sure I should mention this here, but the original title of the game had a HUGE spoiler hidden within it, so I'm guessing that's why they shortened the title.
