• New FFXV tidbits in this week's Jump magazine!

This week, as reported by Siliconera, Hajime Tabata has disclosed some new information regarding magic in Final Fantasy XV. Apparently, the system is pretty deep - spell effects will be different depending on the area where it's cast, so while casting a Fire spell in a dark, moist cave won't be too harmful, doing it on a bright, sunny day in a grassy plane is probably something you'd rather avoid, since you can even hurt your party members with the huge flame that will inevitably appear.

Another interesting element to the scan is Noctis fighting a Magitek armor. So now we can rest assured that, yes, Magitek armors are still there. So while there may be no trace of Stella and switching party members, at least this element of Versus was left in. Will we be able to ride them, though? Who knows.

I like how magic will differ depending on where you use it. Those screenshots look like the lighting and special effects will be good but without seeing it in motion it's hard to tell. Looking forward to seeing more.

Nice that we are hearing more about this game, shame that it feels like it has been in development for eons.

We have had a whole console generation without a stand alone Final Fantasy game. :O

      Don't swear at me........

I forgot about XIII. But it was pants. Graphically good but just didn't do it for me.....

Hoping XV will be much better.

Is that not an MMO though?

I have never played it. Is it any good? I am tempted but struggle to justify subscription charges to myself.

I heard it's good. I actually already have it, but I won't start playing until my wife gets a computer and her own copy so we can play together. Can't wait though
