As mentioned earlier, Square Enix has opened up the Japanese website for a title in the Compilation of FF7, Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus. This website only contains a splash screen for the time being, and no new information.

Square Enix has also opened up the North American website for Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children, and it can be found here. The North American website contains features such as news updates, info on the story, and an English trailer. There is also a character section which is currently blank. The Japanese site for FFVII:AC opened November 2003, and can be found here.

Another feature on Square's Japanese main website is their music section. This section contains bios for composers, game soundtrack track listings with sample clips, and also Uematsu and the Black Mages pages.

A recent interview from www.gamesindustry.biz concerning Final Fantasy: Advent Children has revealed some much needed information to put some rumors to rest.
First of all, the length of the film, which was first planned to be 20 to 30 minutes, has now extended to 70 minutes. Something they were not planning. In their own words ' we set out to create a collection of clips more than a feature film'.
Also, the original staff of FFVII working on Advent Children include: Mr Kitase (Producer), Mr Nomura (Director), Mr Nojima (Script Writer) and also Mr Naora (Art Director).
And to my disappointment about the www.1up.com release date for Advent Children, a fixed date has not been set. The Chocobo song and the spikey haired snowboarder are back! According to Gamespot, Square-Enix has been planning the release another cellphone game related to Final Fantasy. It is not yet known whether or not the game will be released in North America or Europe, or which type of cellphone it can be played on. Although the graphics aren't all that fantastic, the speed of frames in clocked at approximately 15 frames per second. The game is apparently similar to the FF:VII PS and PC version with the obstructive moogles and balloons to give any avid Final Fantasy player a run for his money... gil. More news will become available when it is released.

[source: www.Gamespot.com] ...

Yoichi Wada (President of Square-Enix) recently issued a statement regarding the release date of Final Fantasy XII. "We still haven't decided...however, Final Fantasy XII won't be released this spring" said the President. It is unfortunate that FFXII isn't going to make the previous release date. However, we here at Eyes on Final Fantasy will keep you posted as soon as any further information is made available.

Now for the good news. Wada-san did indicate that Square-Enix will be releasing an average of twelve products per year from now on, which is definitely a good sign. Also, Wada-san mentioned that FFXII's release would be timed so that it won't have to compete with any other Square-Enix titles.

And finally, Square-Enix also hopes to increase the percentage of it's world-wide sales outside Japan to 50 per cent. Currently it rests at around 30 per cent. After the "Spirits Within" fiasco not so long ago, it's nice to see that things are now looking up for Square-Enix.

According to Tetsuya Nomura’s site, Advent Children will be pushed again, making the ‘first quarter of 2005’ obsolete. However, it is for the best. For the past year or so, we have all heard that Advent Children would be around 80 to 90 minutes long, but in Nomura’s own words, “It seems like it just might exceed 90 minutes now...” and in other portions of the report, “Why, it's actually more of a full-length CG film rather than a movie”, “…it's swiftly becoming something that's in the scale of a full-length feature film”.
More information on the report will be added shortly to the Advent Children section of this site.

[Source: www.adventchildren.net ]
...
