Wing Raptor | Level: 1 | HP: 250 |
Weakness: N/A | Win: N/A | |
You start the game with one broadsword equiped on Bartz, and you can find another in the small room to the left of Wingraptor. You can buy two more in Tule and the armor available. Wingraptor only has a basic attack and windslash, and neither are dangerous if you remember to heal. When Wingraptor closes his wings, stop attacking or he will counter with "Talons", instead heal if you need to or Defend.
Karl Boss | Level: 5 | HP: 650 |
Weakness: Bolt | Win: Tent
Five Bolt spells will kill him so a party of black mages will kill him fastest. Monks inflict reasonable damage too. He has two rather tricky attacks. The first is "Tentacle" which will paralyze a character for one turn (their time bar resets after so they lose two turns total) The second is "Tail screw" which will reduce a characters HP to single digits. If you are attacked with Tail screw, heal them immediatley on your next turn.
Siren | Level: 2 | HP: 900 |
Weakness: Cure, Fire(undead form) | Win: Bronze Armor, Bronze Shield
Siren switches forms every so many turns. In her initial form she is immune to magic so use physical attacks. In her undead form, physical attack damage is halved, and she gains a weakness to Fire and Cure magic. This means two physical attackers, a black mage and a white mage is your best setup. A monk will still inflict sufficient damage when she is in her undead form (as much as the cure and fire attacks will inflict) Which means you can finish her quickly when she is undead.
Magissa Faltzer | Level: 8, 8 | HP: 650, 850 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Power Drink, Whip
Midway through the battle, Magissa will summon Faltzer. You've already inflicted damage on Magissa, and she has less HP than Faltzer, so you should continue attacking her and ignore Faltzer. She will also heal him with cure and regen as well as casting strong magic on you so she is definitely your priority. She is in the back row when Faltzer appears, so use magic when you can. Faltzer is barely a threat on his own, and you defeat him quickly with Magissa out of the picture. The skill 2-handed (double grip) will help in this battle if you have it, especially if you bought long swords from the previous town.
Shiva | Level: 11 | HP: 1500 |
Weakness: Fire | Win:Ice rod, Shiva Summon
If you challenge her the first time you can, you might find her difficult. Cast sleep on all the targets to hopefully incapacitate all the guards. Fire is the most effective weapon against Shiva; she is in the back row so avoid physical attacks. Try not to attack the guards, as this will wake them up from Sleep. Returning here after aquiring Fire2 and Cure2 from Karnak will make this battle very easy. Quick note: You can steal Mythril swords from her guards (and the guards found in random encounters in the castle) which otherwise can't be bought until Karna. These can be handy if you're using physical attacks on Garula and find it hard.
Garula | Level: 3 | HP: 1200 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Potion
Garula is very fast and hits hard; He'll counter-attack when you hit him. You can use the Whip you aquired from Magissa to paralyse him fairly easily. A team of Monks is the most effective way to fight him. They have a high HP, so you'll have no problem surviving his attacks. Also, you can rely on your own counter-attacks to damage him, so you can concentrate on staying alive. An added benefit to this, is that he can't counter-attack you! A warrior with two-handed and a Mythril sword (see Shiva) will inflict massive damage. As Garula only attacks physically then equip Shields and the Elf cloak to increase your evade rate.
Liquid Flame | Level: 19 | HP: 3000 |
Weakness: Ice | Win:Fire Bow, Fire Rod, Fire Skill
Liquid flame likes to change form. In his hand form he is immune to your magic, but will continually heal himself by casting Fire magic on himself. Ice2 and Shiva will both inflict roughly the same damage (550HP). A sorcerer can inflict the best damage by casting Ice2 on a sword held in two hands (easily over 1000HP). When he takes his hand form, hit him with a physical attack to force him to change to another form. All three of his forms have a high evade rate so if you are using a sorcerer you might miss a few times. Give cure magic to warriors or monks, and have them be your healers. This way he won't kill your healers too easily. He may draw your characters into the front row, ignore this because he doesn't use many physical attacks, so the row doesn't matter much.
Iron Claw | Level: 20 | HP: 900 |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
This looks just like an ordinary battle, but after taking some damage, the sergeant will take his true form: Iron claw. Cast Ice2 on all targets to kill the dogs and force Iron claw to show himself. If you have time (you will die when the timer reaches zero) wait for Iron claw to cast "Doomclaw" on your Blue mage so you can learn it. Another Ice2 spell is enough to kill him. Doomclaw will reduce a character to single digit HP and paralyse them (regardless if you are equipped with your new Ribbon) so hit him with an Ice2 spell immediately after being hit to win the battle and learn it.
Ifrit | Level: 22 | HP: 3000 |
Weakness: Ice | Win:Fire Skill, Ifrit Summon
He's a fire elemental, so he will absorb fire attacks and is weak against ice. Hit him hard and fast with Ice2 spells or Shiva. Holding an ice rod when you cast Ice2 will increase the damage inflicted, so you can kill him in just four Ice2 spells. He will attack with Fire spells and "High Kick" which inflicts damage as well as paralysis.
Biblos | Level: 24 | HP: 3600 |
Weakness: Fire | Win: Hard Body
There are a few attacks to note here. He may cast "Frog song", so have some Maiden's Kisses available. He has "Magic hammer" which halves your MP. He may cast "Protes" on himself so it isn't a good idea to rely on physical attacks. "Dischord" will halve one characters level. "Drain" will inflict damage and heal him for the same amount of HP he inflicted. And "Thread" which is the same as the "Slow" spell and sharply cuts your speed. His more dangerous attack is Windslash which will hit for 250HP+ on your entire party, so have more than one healer. White magic is good both because of healing and for Esna to cure the frog status. He is weak against fire so casting Fire2 and/or Ifrit is a good strategy. And for that bit of extra damage, hold a fire rod when casting Fire2. Aero spells will heal him and Deathclaw will knock him to critical HP.
Ramuh | Level: 21 | HP: 4000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Ramuh summon
He can cast both "Flash" and "Aspir" so a physical or magic approach is flawed. Aspir steals your MP, so unless you have plenty of ethers, I would take the physical approach. You can wear silverglasses to protect from Blindness or use the Hunter abiltity "Aim" which will still hit 95% of the time even when blinded. As usual you should have a healer concentrating on keeping everyone healthy as Ramuh can cast strong magics. Using a white mage and casting Mute to slience him will leave him almost helpless. You can cast Doomclaw on Ramuh with a good success rate. Also you can cast Black shock followed by Level 5 Doom. .
Sand Worm | Level: 18 | HP: 3000 |
Weakness: Water | Win: NA
Sandworm will change holes 2-3 times a turn. If you try to attack Sandworm and hit a hole instead, you will be counter-attacked with the spell "Demi". Not dangerous in itself, it can set you up for a fall when Sandworm uses his Quicksand attack. Time magic will simplify this battle. Cast Haste on your party, then try to cast Slow on Sandworm. This will hugely increase your chances of hitting him. Any means of attack is fine but avoid casting magic on all targets as you will be counter-attacked by both the holes. That includes Water skills too unless you think you can survive 6 Demi attacks as it will take 3 Water skills to kill him. You can kill Sandworm in one hit if you cast Aquarake. Either learn it from a Quadraharpy or capture and release a Quadraharpy.
Clayclaw | Level: 42 | HP: 2000 |
Weakness: Bolt | Win: Ice Bow
Clayclaw is a slightly more powerful version of Karl boss. His attacks are all the same and he is still weak against Bolt. Lightening skills, casting Bolt2 while holding a Bolt rod, casting Bolt on a sword and summoning Ramuh are all effective.
Adamantium | Level: 20 | HP: 2000 |
Weakness: Ice | Win: Turtle Shell
Physical attacks are not very effective against his high defense so stick to his weakness and use Ice-based attacks. He is a physical fighter so use Knights with the cover command to protect your mages. Level 5 Doom will kill him instantly.
Sol Cannon Launcher(x2) | Level: 36, 50 | HP: 22500, 10800 |
Weakness: Bolt | Win: Dark Matter, Potion x2
He has a lot of HP, but sticking to Bolt element attacks will deplete it quickly. Summon Ramuh and throw Bolt Skills to kill the launchers (using Bolt2 on multiple targets reduces its damage by half but it is still more effective than basic attacks and other elements) Once the launchers are dead, Sol cannon will take 4-5 turns charging it's attack: Beam Cannon. Beam cannon inflicts HP equal to half of your maximum HP so as long as you have more than half your HP you will survive it no problem. Using Bolt based attacks, you should be able to kill him before he uses it again, if you don't think you will, just heal to more than half your HP to survive it again.
Archeoavis (2nd Form) |
Level: 19, 20 | HP: 6400, 2500 |
Weakness: Variable | Win: Hero Drink
He changes his weakness randomly, and unlike "Barrier change", you are given no indication of when it happens. If you use magic, scan him to find his current weakness or judge by what attacks he uses (If he uses Lightning he will absorb Bolt, if he uses Blaze he will absorb Fire etc) If you want to use physical attacks, equip Aim because he has a high evade rate, and equip Silverglasses as he can blind you. He won't appear to take a lot of damage from physical attacks at first but for some reason after a few attacks, your physicals will reach their usual damage. The best method by far is to use Blue magic. You can learn both the needed blue spells in the Lonka Ruins where you fight Archeoavis. Have all four party members cast Blowfish everyturn which is an instant 1000HP damage (4000HP a turn) and use Whitewind if you need to heal. His second form is easily disposed of the same way, but if you learned another Blue magic, Level 5 Doom, you can cast it for an instant kill.
Titan | Level: 1 | HP: 2500 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Potion, Titan Summon
You can avoid his earth-based attacks by Catching a ghilcat from the Dragon mountain and releasing it. You will need four to make your entire party float. Cast your strong magics and use physical attacks aided by 2-handed to inflict damage. He casts Earthshaker as a final attack when he dies. It hits for about 500HP+ so make sure your entire party is healed. Alternetively you can use "Hide" on a character to ensure their safety, or either use "Cntrl" on a Ghilcat to have it cast Float on your party or catch one with the "Catch" command and release it to have it cast Float on the character who releases it, again ensuring their safety.
Puroboros | Level: 22 | HP: 2200 |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
They will use Cure2 and Arise a lot, making it difficult for you to kill them all while they are healing and reviving each other. They will also use Explode on you dealing heavy damage while their pals revive them. Staying alive is most important so have lots of means of healing. Then use attacks which hit multiple targets to hit them all, that way they can't revive each other if they all die together. They will also waste their MP using curing each other which means they may not even have enough MP to use Arise nearer the end of the battle. Ninja skills and Titan are good methods of damage dealing, or a single $Toss will instant K.O them all. Casting Mute will completly disable their using Cure and Arise so you can wait for them to use Exploder and heal throughout the battle instead.
Kima Brain | Level: 19 | HP: 3300 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Phoenix Down
He absorbs Ice-elemental attacks. He uses Blaze which hits all for 250HP+ as well as Aquarake which is equally as deadly, so healers be ready. A Demi spell is the best way to start the battle, as Demi is a Gravity based spell and will inflict more damage when he has more HP. Physical attacks combined with 2-handed or Titan are best for inflicting damage, or Doomclaw + any other attack.
Gilgamesh (Jail) | Level: ?? | HP: ?? |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
Blue magic is effective here, Blowfish for damage and Whitewind for healing. Monks can make use of critical hits and counter attacks and generally inflict a lot of damage, so a Monk with the Blue magic command is best. This gives you Whitewind for healing, Blowfish for damage and counter-attacks which will be frequent as Gilgamesh only attacks physically.
Gilgamesh (Bridge) | Level: ?? | HP: ?? |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
Gilgamesh uses status magics this time, and after you've knocked his HP down so far, he'll cast haste(doubling his speed), Shell(reduce magic damage by half), and Protes(reducing physical damage by half). He then uses the jump command, resulting in less chances to hit him and a stronger attack. The best approach is the same method used against Archeoavis and the previous Gilgamesh battle. Blowfish hits for 1000HP regardless of strength, weakness, armour or spell affects so his Shell and Protes won't protect him. And Whitewind is a suitable healing method. As second abilities you can have Time magic for haste and White magic for Esna.
Tyrannosaurus | Level: 29 | HP: 5000 |
Weakness: Cure, Fire | Win: NA
Note straightaway that he uses an attack that reduces a character to single digit HP, which you should watch out for. He is undead so Fire2 accompanied by a Fire rod is best (it will inflict more damage than Ifrit and Cure2) Also Fire2 cast on a sword accompanied by 2-handed. For an instant kill you can use a pheonix down.
Dragon Grass, Dragon Bulb | Level: 29 | HP: 12000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Dragon Grass, Elixir
The bulbs will use a weak physical attack, but also inflict different statuses: Poison, Blindness, Silence, Paralyse, Old, Confuse, Zombie. These are annoying to heal, so summon golem and avoid them. Titan will kill the bulbs instantly so using both Titan and Golem garantees victory. Bio and Blowfish will be the best means of inflicting damage.
Gilgamesh and Enkido |
Level: ??, 29 | HP: ??, 4000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Gold Shield
Gilgamesh attacks like he did before. Enkido will arrive halfway through the battle and heal Gilgamesh back to full HP. Enkido uses minor attacks, exept for Windslash which can inflict a reasonable amount of damage. He is in the back row so use magic to kill him first, the use strong physical attacks on Gilgamesh. For a quick and funny scene, you can use Dark shock and Level 5 Doom to kill Gilgamesh before Enkido arrives.
Atomos | Level: 41 | HP: 19997 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Dark Matter
Atomos will begin the fight by casting Comet on one of your characters. Sometimes he will even use it twice. This will most likely kill a character, and you might as well leave them that way. Atomos will start sucking them into his black hole, which gives you a lot of time to attack. He will occasionally use some Time magics too, Slow and Demi but no more Comet. If the K.O'd character reaches his mouth, he will then kill another character and begin sucking them so the best strategy for this battle is to hit hard and fast and forget about defense. Caste haste2 and use your strong physical fighter for good damage. Titan works well if accompanied by an Earth robe, you can try to poison him with Bio for extra damage too. You can easily dispose of him by casting Dark shock and Level 5 Doom.
Shoat | Level: 38 | HP: 5000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Shoat Summon
His physical attacks are not much to worry about but he can counter-attack with Demon's eye which petrifies a character. He may even use it twice in a row so it is important to have at least one character eqiupped with a Ribbon, or as many as you can. Use a Dancer or a Bare class fighter to equip them. Shoat only has 5000HP so some strong physical attacks and strong magics will get you through this battle. It might be a good idea to aquire level three elemental magics first (Fire3, Ice3 and Bolt3) If he is giving you trouble, capture an Iron dress from the cave you passed to get to him, and release it for an instant kill.
Seal Guardians | Level: 77 | HP: 7777 |
Weakness: Variable | Win: NA
There are four Guardians in this battle, and each has its own elemental strength. Below is the Earth guardian, left is the Wind guardian, above is the Fire guardian and right is the Water guardian. They will each use physical attacks until they reach below half their HP then they will use their elemental strength, either Fire3, Earthshaker, Aero3 or Aquarake. The best approach to this battle is to be as well prepared as possible. Cast float on all four party members before the battle to negate the earth gaurdians elemental attack. Wearing Wall rings (dropped by enemies in the barrier tower) will reflect Fire3 and Aero3. Unequip the Flame shield if you have it because Aquarake will inflict double damage. You can't protect from Aquarake (even with Coral rings if you have them) so after summoning Golem to protect from their physical attacks, Aquarake will be the only thing that can hurt you. Now you are free to use any means of attack you choose. Titan will damage three segments for good damage, and you can reduce a segment to single digit HP with Doomclaw with only a few tries. Also, $toss works wonders.
Carbuncle | Level: 44 | HP: 1500 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Carbuncle Summon
Carbunkle is tricky. Casting reflect is futile, because he just bounces spells off of his own reflect. If you try to do the same, he'll probably end up killing you with an instant kill attack (Doom) or super strong magic. He has a very high evade rate too so attacking physically is also difficult. He doesn't have much HP however, so physical attacks with Aim will be effective. Summoning Shoat works well too as he can be petrified very easily.
Gilgamesh (X-Deaths Castle) | Level: ?? | HP: ?? |
Weakness: NA | Win: Excalipur
He is very much the same as previous battles, in that he uses a wide range of attacks, some more deadly than others. He likes to halve your level, Blind you, cast Stop and Old (together as the Blue spell Timeslip) as well as Mini and Toad. Esna is a definite must and is helpful on more than one character. Healers should always be ready to heal against Hurricane (instant single digit HP) Haste and Slow will hugely affect this battle so introduce a time mage to your party if you haven't already. To damage him, use level three elemental magic aided by the appropriate rod or physical attacks with 2-swords or 2-handed.
X-Death | Level: 66 | HP: 32768 |
Weakness: Holy | Win: NA | |
He will cast condemn at the beginning of the battle which will kill a character in 30 seconds (rarely he won't do this). He uses strong physical attacks and powerful magic so the most important thing you can do is to summon Golem and Carbuncle. You will be completely protected from most of his attacks and score extra damage when he is hit by the reflected spells. Cast Float before the battle so Earthshaker won't hurt you. He can negate it with Gravity100 but reflect solves that. Give a Monk or a Knight the !Blue command and let them be your healer using Whitewind (this passes through reflect and heals equal to the caster's current HP so is more effective on a Monk or Knight) The only attacks he has which can still be fatal to your party are Dispel (will remove haste and reflect off the targeted character), Hurricane (instant single digit HP on targeted character), Zombie breath (damages all and may inflict zombie status) and Level 3 Flare which can easily kill your entire party if your levels are all divisable by three. To damage him, cast level three elemental magic aided by the appropriate rod and cast selecting your entire party. It will reflect off all four of your party members and hit him with four times the force (or effectively x2 the normal damage) 2-handed on your fighters (just don't equip excalipur!) and Shurikens and $toss.
Ant Lion | Level: 31 | HP: ?? |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
You only have two characters, so one will probably have to heal while the other attacks. The Bloodsword aided with Aim allows you to deal damage and heal simultaneously, which is a brilliant strategy for any bosses you face. Attacking and healing are pretty much it here.
Gargoyles | Level: 32 | HP: ?? |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
Like the Puroboros, the best strategy is to attack both Gargoyles at once. Otherwise the other Gargoyle will revive its comrade.
Mellusion | Level: 22-33 | HP: Variable |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
Unlike Archeoavis, you can see when Mellusion changes her weakness. She uses an attack called "Wall change" so when you see it, Scan her to find her new weakness and then exploit it. You can also tell what elemental she will absorb by what spell she casts. If she casts Fire she will absorb Fire, if she casts Ice she will absorb Ice etc. And just like an enemy who is of a specific element, the opposite of that element is their weakness. So if she uses Fire then cast Ice on her and if she uses Ice then cast Fire on her etc.
Shield Dragon | Level: 29 | HP: 19999 |
Weakness: Fire | Win: NA | |
This is an optional fight in the Sealed Castle so you can run from this boss if you feel like it. They have the Reflect status so either summon Ifrit or cast Fire3 on a party member who also has the Reflect status to bypass it. Using the "Cntrl" ability on them and then using their own Fire attacks on them is by far the easiest way to dispose of them. The Shield Dragon can escape so try to influct as much damage as quickly as you can. Also look out for the Shield Dragon's zombie attack.
X-Death Soul | Level: 34 | HP: 20000 |
Weakness: Holy | Win: NA | |
Another optional fight in the Sealed Castle that you can run from if you want. Similar to the real battle with X-death though not nearly as difficult. He has 10000HP less and this time you will have means of attacking his weakness. The Holy lance and Excalibur work incrediably well especially with 2-swords or 2-handed. In later visits to this castle you will also have the spell "Holy" which will deal huge damage. One thing to watch out for is his "Doomsword" which is an instant death attack but can't be reflected as it is also a physical attack.
Odin | Level: 2 | HP: 17000 |
Weakness: Break | Win: Odin Summon
You have exacly 1 minute to beat him and that minute is up fast. Don't waste time with Holy, Flare or summons as these take too long. The best means is to use !Sshot combined with 2-handed and using Samurai weapons. 2-swords won't reach anymore damage than 2-handed but takes longer and punching with Monks suddenly appears to take forever as well, whereas Samurai weapons are incredable fast. Casting Bolt3 is fast and adding a Bolt rod to increse the damage makes it a very effective method if everyone is attacking with it. Casting Break or summoning Shoat has a high chance of petrifying him. You could also summon Hydra instead of casting Bolt3. Be aware that if time runs out, it is a Game Over.
Stoker | Level: 7 | HP: 20000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
Stoker has three images by his side and will hide amongst them. You can only damage the real Stoker and hitting him is the only way to know you have found him. But hitting him forces him to take a new location so you are constantly guessing where he will appear next. Using multi-target hitting spells will result in Stoker and his three images counter-attacking with Blaze which can end a battle very quickly. You have two possible approaches: The first is to use Sshot (X-fight) as your "find Stoker weapon". It hits four random targets on screen one after the other so you won't receive a counter attack and if you don't hit him, you can guess where he'll be by process of elimination. The second approach is to simply asign each character to attacking one segment each. Then no matter where he goes he will receive at least one strong blow per round. Also watch out for Hurricane again and for his Mind blast attack.
Minitaurus | Level: 37 | HP: 19850 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Holy | |
This battle is completely physical. Minitaurus will attack using basic physical attack and a slightly stronger Critical attack. He isn't overly fast (about your speed) but he will counter attack everytime you hit him. So for this reason you must either Guard against his physical attacks and rely on your own counter attacks, or make every attack count and use Sshot (x4 attack) with 2-swords or 2-handed. Magic isn't allowed in this battle so use items for healing.
Omniscient | Level: 53 | HP: 16999 |
Weakness: Wind | Win: Flare
This battle is strictly magic. If you attack Omniscient with a physical attack, he will reset the battle with "Return". (This is handy to remember if you're losing and want to restart as it would mean fighting Minitaurus again if you lose) Reflect is very important as almost every one of Omniscient's attacks can be reflected. Which means items or Whitewind for healing. Cast Reflect on him if you want to benefit from some of his cure magic as well as Regen and Haste as they will reflect and hit you. An interesting approach is to use Beserk on him. He is allowed to attack physically and he can hit a lot harder than Minotauras. But this time you can cast Blink or Summon Golem to avoid all that damage and instead concentrate on dealing your own damage.
Nergade (Blue) Phobos (Green) Triton (Red) |
Level: 20, 39, 37 | HP: 13333, 13333, 13333 |
Weakness: Variable | Win: Meteo
Each boss has a different strength and weakness. One is of Fire element, another is Ice and the last is Poison (easily distinguishable by their colour: red, blue and green. Bolt, Water and non elemental spells will hurt them all, so if you decided to take a crack at lithograph four before this one then Leviathan will work wonders. Otherwise Hydra, Bolt3, Holy and Flare are good too. If you were feeling brave enough to challenge Bahamut already then he will win this battle very easily. Summons are prefered over Holy and Flare as you will need to kill them all simultaneously. If you do not, they will instantly revive each other and follow by casting Delta attack which may petrify a character. They are all undead so Requiem will damage them all. It won't be nearly as damaging as Bahamut but it doesn't cost MP. Casting Odin has a high chance of Vengeswording them. Another alternative for an easy victory is to cast condemn on them all within the same turn so they all die together. Or use Doomclaw on all three of them before using a spell to target and kill all them after.
Gogo | Level: ?? | HP: ?? |
Weakness: NA | Win: Mimic Job
It's best to run from the battles inside Waltz tower, giving you plenty of time for this "battle". Gogo will begin by telling you to mimic him, then just sits there. To win this battle, you need to mimic him and do nothing. Don't try to fight him outright. Though you might think you can attack, heal after the Meteor counter-attack and proceed to follow that pattern, Gogo will eventually tire of that. The boss music will replace his theme and he will insistantly use Meteo until you are dead. Just wait until he is called into the X-zone.
Bahamut | Level: 99 | HP: 40000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Bahamut Summon
He has a whole range of powerful attacks, including Blizzard (hits all, use a fire ring or ice shield), Atom ray (hits all, absorb with flame shields or fire rings or protect from it with coral rings) Poison breath (hits all, which can't be protected from but have a few antidotes on hand. Aquarake (will only deal some 250HP with shell) and Maelstrom which is his most deadly attack by far. Your party will all be reduced to single digit HP after being hit by it so Cure3 is a must! He can use his Mega Flare at anytime from when the battle starts which is serious damage to all. Luckily this can be avoided by casting Reflect/summoning Carbunkle which will inflict 2500HP on him instead. Bahamut is EXTREMELY slow for a boss at this stage in the game. By casting Haste2 each character can reach two attacks each before he attacks. Give them Time6 as a second ability and cast Quick for two attacks in the same turn and you'll find he barely has time to attack before you kill him. Holy, Flare and Odin all inflict good HP so fire them out fast and he won't stand a chance.
Leviathan | Level: 37 | HP: 40000 |
Weakness: Bolt | Win: Leviathan Summon, Wall Ring
Coral rings will absorb the worst of his attacks and Golem will absorb his physical attacks making you pretty much untouchable (minus Aquarake as for some reason this water spell can't be absorbed by your coral rings). This battle will be very quick if you use secondary skills to aid your Bolt attacks. Hold a Bolt rod to increase the damage of a single Bolt3 spell. Reflect a Bolt3 spell from your entire party for double damage. Use Redx2 (X-magic) and/or Quick (time magic) for double casting or cast it on 2-swords and use Sshot for 8 consecutive Bolt attacks.
Wood Sprite | Level: 68 | HP: 18000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Diamond Armor
The only thing to know about Woodsprite is she starts battle with the reflect status. So either use Dispel so you can use your strong magics on her, cast Carbunkle and bypass her reflect by casting your spells on yourselves, cast summons which automatically bypass reflect or stick with strong physical attacks. If you choose to Dispel her Reflect then you make way for her to cast support magic on herself including Cure2, Regan, Shell and Protect so if this happens, simply cast Dispel again. Using Meteor to bypass her Reflect also works really well.
Omega | Level: 119 | HP: 56000 |
Weakness: Bolt | Win: Omega Badge
Equip everyone with Winged shoes. If you want to absorb his flame attacks then use Flame shields not Fire rings. Winged shoes grant you iniative as well as saving you from re-casting haste if a character should die. Haste will also give you even speed with him so asided from his counter-attacks he will only have one attack per turn. As you have first attack, you can set up your defense before Omega can attack. Guardian and Carbunkle are your requirements. Reflect will protect you from two attacks which are instant death which will save you having to revive and wastes one of Omega's turns. Cast "Float" before the battle to protect from his Earthshaker. He rarely uses Maelstrom but if he does then have everyone use elixirs on themselves straight after. Beam cannon inflicts damage equal to half your maximum HP so Whitewind will recover you fully. Rainbow wind should be countered with Esna and Encircle will have to be countered with "Return" All his remaining attacks can be reflected or easily healed. His more deadly attacks are counter-attacks. If you attack him, you will be punished with three or four counter attacks which may be Homing missiles (reduced to half HP and chance of being confused) and Mustard Bombs (over half your HP) which can easily end a battle. So an all out offensive will result in a short battle as you will be killed all the quicker. The best way to avoid this is to have just one offensive character and three characters to hide and then pick up the pieces. He is weak against Bolt but his auto reflect means you can't cast magic on him directly. Omega also absorbs most other elements so Bolt is your only option. Equip one character as a Bare class and give them !Sword and !Sshot. Have them cast Bolt3 on their sword so you can attack with Bolt element and bypass his reflect. Your other three character should be Mimes equipped with White6, Time6 and "Hide" (level one Bard ability) Have them Hide and attack with your Bare class fighter. Your Bare class fighter will receive all the counter attacks and will be K.O'd for certain. Then wait for Omega to attack and immediately bring out two of your Mimes. With winged shoes, your Mimes ATB gauge will fill faster than Omegas. Cast "Quick", Arise on your K.O'd character then Hide, and your next mime should cast Quick, Reflect and Hide. Your Bare class will be protected from Omega's instant death attacks and will easily survive any of Omega's other attacks. You won't need to re-cast your sword magic and Haste from winged shoes will automatically take effect. Attack again and let your Mimes pick up the pieces and repeat until victory is yours. Good Luck!
Azulmagia | Level: 57 | HP: 27900 |
Weakness: Poison | Win: Save Point
Azulmagia knows all the Blue magics and so this battle could go either way. It is strongly recomended you summon Carbunkle to put the reflect status on your party. This is primarily for protecting against level magic. It is very likely that your party will be susceptable to either level 2 old, level 3 flare, level 4 quarter or level 5 doom but all can be reflected. Cast reflect on him if you need to learn Guardian as he has a very high chance of using it. If he does use it, cast Dispel on him immediately after. He can attack quite fiercely with physical attacks so summon Golem to counter this, and wear Ribbons or have white magic equipped for "Esna" to counter many of his status attacks. To defeat him, either use the Blue mage spell "Explosion" as this will make him learn it and he will then use it which will kill him. Or cast Bio on 2-swords and Sshot him for an instant K.O.
Alte Roit/ Jura Avis |
Level: 58-61 | HP: 6000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Dragon Fang
He only has 6000HP which is peanuts compared to Twin Tania who closely follows and has 50000HP. The only attack he has which should worry you is his encircle attack, which you should counter with the Time mage spell "Return". Using Meteor, Flare and Holy aided with a Sage staff will kill him supremely quickly. Once you take the first 3000HP he will take his dragon form which you can easily kill by summoning Odin with a high success rate. Or you can simply Berserk him. That will prevent him from using Encircle and even stop him from taking his dragon form.
Catastrophe | Level: 71 | HP: 19997 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Soft | |
Cast Float on your party and give them wall rings. So long as you characters have the Float status, Catastroph will continually cast Gravity100 which effectively cancels the effects of Float. However Gravity100 can be reflected so Catastroph will just cast it and have it reflect on him for the entire battle.
Halycanos | Level: 97 | HP: 33333 |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
Halcyanos begins the battle by turning three of your party members into frogs. To avoid this you can all wear Ribbons. If you don't want want to use a party consisting of Dancers and Bare class fighters however, you can turn your party into frogs before the battle and when Halcyanos casts it you will instead be changed back. Just use a Maiden's Kiss on the character who remains a frog. Halcyanos casts some deadly magics which are incrediably powerful. His Holy can easily kill a character in a single hit. Wear winged shoes to give you initiative and cast Shell on your party to at least survive these spells. Then of course dedicate some party members to healing. Summoning Golem is also a very good idea as Halcyanos has stron physical attacks. Use your strongest magics and summons. If you are having trouble, then wear winged shoes to give you initiative, then cast Beserk on Halcyanos and cast Blink on your party.
Twin Tania | Level: 39 | HP: 50000 |
Weakness: Water, Holy | Win: Tinkerbell
Twin Tania likes to use Tidal wave, so absorb it with Coral rings. Then Haste2 and summon Golem. She has a weakness to Holy which means it shouldn't be difficult taking all that HP. Hold the Sage staff and cast Holy for 9999HP and execute Sshot while holding Excalibur and the Holy lance to deplete even more. Exploiting Holy like this means she won't last more than a few turns. In fact, adding "Quick" to the mix will destroy her in under one turn. If you are having trouble, wear Coral rings to protect from Tidal wave and Atom ray, cast Shell on everyone and Summon Carbunkle and Golem and heal and defend until you see him begin charging his Giga flare. Then cast Odin to Vengesword him.
Gilgamesh (N-Zone) | Level: 97 | HP: ?? |
Weakness: NA | Win: NA | |
He will only use physical attacks in this battle; Gilgamesh is a bit distracted and isn't meant to prove a challenge, unlike some of the bosses before him (Twin tania) and the boss that follows (Necrophobe) He has just a basic physical attack and "critical" which hits for just a little more than his other attack. Summon Golem to render them useless and hit him with some hard magics or physical attacks and he will flee.
Shinryuu | Level: 97 | HP: 55000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: Dragon Seal, Ragnarok
Shinryu can easily kill your entire party with most of his attacks. Equip all your characters with Coral rings to absorb his initial Tidal wave attack (that would normally hit for up to 8000HP) and to protect you from Atom ray. Give your party Ice shields to absorb his Blizzard attack. Equip one character with Masamune as this will give you initiative over his Tidal wave and you can use this time to cast Redx2 or Quick and fast cast Guardian and Haste straight away. You may be lucky enough to have another character or two attack before Tidal wave after having Haste cast on them. Shinryu is incrediably fast, it may be a good idea to give a character Winged shoes instead of a Coral ring and revive them after Tidal wave hits. From there they can be your Healer as their Haste will always be active even if they die and are revived. Roulette, Demons eye and his basic physical attack are all instant death attacks so be armed with many pheonix downs or White6 for a more effective Arise spell. The most important of Shinryu's attacks that you will want to avoid are both his level magics and his Maelstrom. Level 2 old and Level 3 Flare are seriously deadly in this battle and you can't have reflect up to block them because Cure3 is the best healing method. It's best to level up a level or two and avoid entering battle on a level divisable by 2 or 3. His Maelstrom will put you all down to single digit HP and he attacks fast enough to attack again after using it, and as alot of his attacks hit your entire party, it often means game over. One character must have haste active and use Cure3 immediatley after (so Winged shoes on one character is extremely helpful). Finally, if he should cast Guardian, you have no chance of defeating him so Dispel it before attacking him. To hurt him you can do a number of things. He absorbs Holy, so don't use it. Meteo for some reason does very little damage. Flare and Odin will do acceptable damage. Physical attacks are surprisingly effective despite his high defense however he does have a reasonably high evade rate. !Sshot then is definitely the best offense. Having mastered the Ninja job class, have a Bare handed fighter hold two strong swords or axes and cast Quick. Then use !Sshot twice to inflict a huge amount of HP damage. In fact, having all four characters wear Winged shoes and using this method, you will defeat him before his initial Tidal wave attack.
Necro Phobe | Level: 66 | HP: 44044 |
Weakness: Holy | Win: Save Point
You can't attack Necrophobe at first. You must destroy his barriers, which will each attack you every turn and can cast level3 elemental magic (Fire3, Ice3 and Bolt3) as well as Flare and Holy, which can easily devastate your party. You will want to destroy these as fast as possible to avoid all those nasty spells. They have the Reflect status so you can't use magic. Don't waste time casting Reflect on yourself as they will simply cast their spells on themselves to bounce to you. The best way to dispose of them is to summon Leviathan or Bahamut. Leviathan is better value for MP cost but if you have enough or are using mimes then Bahamut will kill them slightly faster. For Necrophobe you can unleash a heavy onslaught of Flare and Holy spells or use !Sshot to kill him. If you want to see what happens to Gilgamesh, take Necrophobe's HP down to below 9999HP and wait for Gilgamesh to appear. This is also your only chance to steal the last piece of Genji armor. When he appears you are completely safe to keep stealing as Necrephobe will no longer attack you.
X-Death Neo X-Death |
Level: 77 | HP: 60000 / 50000, 55000, 55000, 60000 |
Weakness: NA | Win: The game
Equip magic users as Mimes so you can equip three abilities, and give everyone White magic allowing you to heal at a moment's notice. Then you can fill in the other two slots as necessary. Physical fighters should be Bare class fighters so you can equip anything and two of them at that! You won't get any AP anyways. In this battle it is important you cast Haste2 Guardian and Golem (or Blink) so any support magic you cast in this battle will still be active in the battle that follows. He will use Holy, Meteo and Flare which you should survive with the help of Guardian. If he uses Dispel, then at least cast Haste again. His Vacwave will be absorbed by Golem so all that you need to worry about is "White ball". Whiteball will instant K.O a character and petrify them so you will need to revive and unpetrify them fast. Attack with Flare, Holy, Meteo, and summons to whittle down that HP. Time magic "Quick" and Redx2 (X-magic) will both allow you to double-cast so use this to your advantage and keep your offense high. Physical attacks are slightly less useful in the following battle but 2-handed with the Rune axe, Ragnarok and Braveblade can still be deadly. Casting Flare or Holy on your sword is also extremely useful. As this is the final battle, don't hesitate to use any Elixirs you may have been saving. Also if you want to inflict serious damage fast, you can throw all your best weapons using the Ninja's "Throw" command. Ragnarok, Excalibur, Braveblade etc will all hit for well over 8000HP even over 9000HP. When you defeat him he will be engulfed by the void and you will have to fight Neo X-Death...
Neo X-Death has four segments each with 50000-60000HP. Taking all that HP will mean a long battle but hopefully you will still have your support spells active from your fight with X-Death (unless you didn't re-cast them after being Dispelled or K.O'd) which means you can start attacking right away. There are two approaches you can take to him, equally effective: The first is to use summons. They will damage all the segments at once. The damage is not very much and summons are expensive concerning MP, but using Redx2/Quick and Mime will solve both problems. Cast Bahamut twice and then Mime it with your next available characters until you need to stop to heal and you will defeat him fairly quickly. The other is to attack focusing your damage on a segment at a time. Begin by attacking the segment at the front as it has the lowest HP and is also in the front row so damage wont be halved if you attack with physical attacks. Physical attackers are great if equipped with 2-handed, Time6 or !Sword, as double damage provided with 2-handed when equipped with Braveblade or Ragnarok is very high and using Time magic Quick to attack twice will devestate. You can't aid physical attackers with !Sshot as !Sshot attacks random targets and can't distinguish the segments from the rest of Neo X-Death's body. Casting Holy with the Sage staff is also very good for damage. This battle is similar to the previous battle with X-Death except a few more deadly attacks being added to his arsenal. Ultragust will hit your entire party for about 1500HP which isn't too dangerous and can also be halved with the effects of Guardian. Your biggest worry is Grandcross. It will inflict a random status ailment to each of your characters. The status's inflicted include Condemn, Zombie, Petrify and even instant death but likely you will see a couple of these and then Mini or Toad thrown in too. So long as every character either has the Item command or Esna then it shouldn't be too much of a problem recovering from it. The battle starts to get really tough when you have him down to just one segment. He will use Meteo every turn and follow with two Vacwaves. This means you may be reviving and healing characters pretty consistantly. If you have both Golem and Guardian active then this isn't a problem and you can simply heal and continue your assault. Remember... healing comes before anything else, then Guardian and Haste, then attacking. So long as you remember this then you will have a much easier time defeating him./ |
Hello FF players.
I would be glad, if anyone could give me a hint.
I mastered Lenna for Mysticknight, Ranger and Ninja.
