Square Enix just released a new trailer showcasing the members of Class Zero who weren't in the recent Orience News report. The new video features English voice acting, more backstory, footage of the seven characters fighting abilities, and appearances from new characters as well!

The Starlight Celebration returns to the realm on Thursday, and there are a tonne of awesome goodies up for grabs to fill your stockings with! The event will be taking place from December 18th, to December 31st so be sure to log in and take part in the quest. You will find the quest in Old Gridania, at Mih Khetto's Amphitheatre - so take a teleport there! You will be looking for an NPC called Xavalien - or, just look around to see where the unruly mob of players is camping out!


A new quest will open up each day in the major cities. You must complete the first quest in Old Gridania to proceed. For taking part in the quest you will obtain 'Fallen Stars' which are traded in for some goodies... Which is of course, the most exciting part of the seasonal events. Whilst this isn't strictly Final Fantasy related, we wanted to take a moment to hold a brief tribute to a man named Ralph Baer.



Known affectionately as "The Father of Video Games", Ralph Baer was born in Germany in 1922 but would later move to the United States with his family due to Hitler's rise to power. He eventually became an engineer and, in the 1950s, the at the time very radical idea of playing games on a television screen began to swirl around in his imagination. In 1966 he decided to start experimenting with this pipe dream, and in 1971 he unveiled the very first home video game console: the Magnavox Odyssey.

The Odyssey went on to inspire several more people and companies who would also go on to be known as video game innovators, such as Nolan Bushnell (who created Pong and Atari) and Nintendo, whose first real shift from a card and toy company to a video game one was the result of securing the rights to distribute the Magnavox Odyssey in Japan.
