Battle Menu Guide
I put little red numbers/letters in so you can see what I'm referring to. The battle menu shouldn't be too hard to learn. Except that some stuff has been moved. I wish they would've kept ITEM at the bottom. But you get used to it after a while.
1.

5.
NIGERU: "Run". Try to run from battle.

B. Character's Class
C. Current HP/ Max HP
D. Current Lvl.

Item Menu
This lets you use items like Heal potions. It also lets you rearrange the order of items in your inventory and look at what quest items you've gotten so far. If you want to move an item, select it once, move to where you want it to go, and select that spot. A nice feature of the WSC, if you select a weapon or piece of armor twice, it'll show you who can use it and give some info about it.

Quicksave
Allow me to explain how this works. You can quicksave from anywhere in the game, even inside dungeons. When you quicksave, you immediately have to quit the game. Then, next time you start FF1, there'll be an option underneath "New Game" and "Continue" that will let you reload your quicksave. Once you reload your quicksave, it is ERASED. For example, if you quicksave, quit, come back, load your quicksave, then quit again before doing a REAL save, you just lost your info. Quicksave is NOT like an emulator savestate, for example. It doesn't let you cheat and keep reloading from the same place in a dungeon. It only lets you take an extended pause. You always start over after a quicksave just like if you'd kept playing instead of quicksaving. I hope that made sense.
1.
GEIMU O ICHIJITEKI NI SEIBU SHIMASU: "Save the game temporarily"

'CHYUUDAN' SURU TO TSUGI NI GEIMU O HAJIMERU TOKI DAKE 'SAIKAI' DE TSUKKI KARA GEIMU O HAJIMERU KOTO GA DEKIMSU. 'CHYUUDAN' SHIMASU KA?: "Lots of weird Japanese grammar goes here", basically "Stop playing now, and next time you start the game, you can resume from where you left off, but only one time, then the quicksave slot gets erased. Do you want to quicksave?"
4.
