Boss 1-
Name: Yakra
HP: 920
Cheffie: Chrono should use the Fire Whirl attack from Lucca, and let Frog attack normally. This battle isn't all that hard.
Spatvark: When fighting Yakra, make sure to never attack it with a character that is near him, or he will counter. Have Crono and Frog do X-Strike and have Lucca cast Flame Line and Yakra should be easy. If you need to, have Frog use Slurp and Lucca and Crono use Fire Whirl.
Boss 2-
Name: Battle Tank (Head, Grinder, Tank)
HP: 600 (Head), 208 (Grinder), 266 (Tank)
Cheffie: Take out the head first and nothing else; ONLY USE PHYSICAL ATTACKS. When the head is gone, feel free to attack in any way. Be careful of the Grinder attack. Use Fire Whirl and you will beat this boss fairly fast
Spatvark: As the manual in the warden's room said, the head rejuvenates the Grinder and Tank so you've got to take that out first. Have Crono and Lucca just attack it until it drops. Heal often though coz' the Grinder and Tank can do some meaty damage. They've all got different attacks so take out the Grinder first and then the Tank, though Fire Whirl will hit them both.
Boss 3-
Name: Guardian, Bit (x2)
HP: 1200 (Guardian), 200 (Bit)
Cheffie: This boss is a bit tough to beat. First of all, don't attack the Guardian until the two bits are destroyed, because the guardian will deploy a lethal attack, that could kill your character, so do that first. Attack the 2 bits, wait til they are gone, then attack the Guardian with Fire Whirl, and physical attacks, and you should be able to beat it.
Spatvark: I say boss but it's a walkover really. Take out the bits first with whatever you've got and then beat the crap out of the Guardian. However, do not use fire-based attacks against the Guardian so no Flame Toss or Fire Whirl. You can use Slash and Cyclone but it's not really worth it. When the countdown reaches zero, the bits are revived so take them out again and then polish off the Guardian. If you're characters are strong enough, the bits should only be revived once.
Boss 4-
Name: Sir Krawlie
HP: 500
Cheffie: This guy is not that tough, just attack and heal as usual.
Spatvark: Have Crono and Marle attack it while Lucca casts Flame Toss. If Sir Krawlie says, "I'll shred ya!" get ready for some pain. Whoever he attacks, he'll take their health down to one so heal 'em quick! Otherwise, he's rather easy.
Boss 5-
Name: R-Series (R-63Y, R-64Y, R-65Y, R-67Y, R-68Y, R-69Y)
HP: 150 (Each)
Cheffie: This battle isn't tough at all. Just focus your attacks on one robot at a time and they should shoot nothing but bolts and oil ;)
Spatvark: Hey, isn't this nice? A family reunion for Robo! And look, it's just like Christmas, they're beating the crap out of him! Obviously, you just stand by and do nothing until they dispose of him. Now you've got to take on six of Robo's brothers but that's no hassle. Fire Whirl away to your hearts content... you did bring Lucca right? Otherwise this fight is a hell of a lot tougher.
Boss 6-
Name: Heckran
HP: 2100
Cheffie: For this battle you have to rely solely on your magic; use whatever magic attacks you have, and Robo should be the strongest one in magic (hint hint).
Spatvark: Have Crono cast Lighting with Marle and Lucca casting Antipode. When the Heckran says "Go ahead! Try and attack..." don't coz' he'll counter. Take this opportunity to cast Aura Whirl and then wait, replenishing your magic if needs be. When it says "Brief counterattack break" batter him senseless. That's pretty much all there is to this fight.
Boss 7-
Name: Zombor (Top, Bottom)
HP: 960 (Top), 800 (Bottom)
Cheffie: The best bet is to take out the top part first then this prevents it from using any of its stronger attacks, then use fire on the bottom part to finish it off quickly. Piece of cake.
Spatvark:Use Lightning and Fire against the bottom half and Ice against the top. Once Zombor's legs are gone, have Crono attack the top half with Lucca healing with Tonics and Mid Tonics or attacking. That's pretty much it except for heal often coz' Zombor's "Doom, doom, doom, doom..." move is really nasty; about 90 damage to everyone so heal immediately after.
Boss 8-
Name: Masa and Mune (Masa and Mune, Masa&Mune)
HP: 1000 (Each), 3600 (Masa&Mune)
Cheffie: Focus on each of the enemies first, then once you defeat one of them, they will obviously turn into 1. This is gonna be tough. To beat him, use ONLY lightning and physical attacks. I highly suggest just using lightning.
Spatvark: While they're separate, attack Masa (the one with the blue collar) coz' if you hit Mune, they'll perform a dual counter. Also, since to beat them, only one has to be KO'd, don't waste your attacks on both of them. I'd recommend having Crono cast Lightning with Marle and Lucca casting Antipode, but to start, (and ohmygod, is this the best tactic ever?) have Lucca cast Hypno Wave.
Once you've done that, it gets a hell of a lot harder since they merge into one big, badass mofo. This time, have Crono just attack Masa&Mune while Marle and Lucca cast Antipode, occasionally switching to Crono and Marle casting Aura Whirl and Lucca casting Fire. Don't bother casting Lightning on it since Masa&Mune's lightning resistance is very high. Again, remember what they said in the Dorino Inn? Crono's Slash attack dissipates Energywhirls so once Masa&Mune starts storing electrical energy, hit it with one. The key to this fight is healing, and healing QUICKLY. Get that right and this fight's a doddle.
Boss 9-
Name: Nizbel
HP: 4200
Cheffie: This battle isn't all that tough at all. It's highly defensive against physical attacks, so just use magic. Fire and Lightning work VERY well against this guy. By the way, keep your life at 60% or above or else you'll die from his severe physical attacks.
Spatvark: Regardless of what you say to Azala, you're gonna get in a fight. You can treat Nizbel like a Megasaur; lightning makes him more vulnerable to physical attacks. Then have Ayla and Crono perform Drill Kick while the third character heals the rest. Nizbel is a walkover really.
Boss 10-
Name: Flea
HP: 4120
Cheffie: This battle is a TOUGH one. The main thing you have to watch out for is that Flea will designate one of your characters to attack all characters in your party, and it will usually result in huge damage against all party members. You should mainly keep to using regular attacks or Dual Techs. Watch for the Waltz of Wind attack, at times it does nothing but at times it can take away a lot of HP and put a confusing status effect on you. Attack and keep your HP up above 80.
Spatvark: Basically, just hammer Flea with all you've got; she's not that difficult. Unfortunately though, she has a predilection for casting Chaos on your party, which is a right royal pain in the arse. Fire Sword for Lucca and Crono while Frog gets to show off his swordsmanship. If you want, use a Mid Ether on Frog and get him to use Slurp every now and then but you can just as easily use Mid Tonics. Once she's done and dusted, take the Magic Tab she drops.
Boss 11-
Name: Slash
HP: 5200
Cheffie: Ouch, talk about tough...his physical attacks deal moderate damage but his "attack attack attack" attack will deal out about 40-70 HP of damage. You shouldn't have too much trouble with his first form...he has about 2600 HP in his first form. In his second form he takes the sword from the wall...this time he is twice as tough. Watch for his wave attack; if he gets to the side of your party he can hit all three of your guys, and while it may weaken the wave attack, it still does plenty of damage. Keep your HP to the max, once Slash gets close to you he will pull off a powerful physical attack that does explosive damage. Attack and heal, your X-Strike works nicely in this battle.
Spatvark: Slash attacks in two phases, firstly without the sword and then with it. At first, conserve magic by just beating seven shades of shinola out of him. When he takes the sword, it's time to start singing to a different tune. Just weigh him down with the strongest physical techs you've got but don't use elemental spells since they have little to no effect on Slash. Use Frog to heal the others or just to whack Slash. When he's near death, he'll start to counter every physical attack so switch to magic. Make sure to take the Slasher since it's far better than anything you should have at the moment.
Boss 12-
Name: Ozzie
HP: 1000
Cheffie: Dont hit the ice block. Just focus your attacks on Ozzie. This battle is easy. Just keep on hitting Ozzie, go behind him, and attack him also. Just dont attack the ice block.
Spatvark Actually, this fight is just plain ridiculous. Do not attack Ozzie but hit the winch mechanisms around him. That's all there is to this fight.
Boss 13-
Name: Magus
HP: 6666
Cheffie: This is the hardest battle this far in the game. I'm warning you, level up. This is EXTREMELY hard. Hit Magus, and he will change barriers, a magic box at the top will tell you what type of magic to use to affect him. Dont use any other magic, or you will heal him. After you contiune to do this and Magus has 3000 hp, his barriers will go down, and you can. The Masamune will appear at the best time, and contiune to fight him, and Magus will die.
Spatvark: If Frog hasn't learnt Heal by now, you're in a lot of trouble. You HAVE to have a healer here but you also need three different types of magic and Robo isn't really all that useful in this fight. Have Frog hit Magus with the Masamune to decrease his Magic Defence. The key to this fight is being very quick healing and casting attack spells. Whatever he changes his barrier to, use a spell of that type against him. If you have any level two element spells, I'd recommend not using them as they're a waste of magic but do use double techs if you can. If he changes his barrier type to one you don't have just heal and have Frog attack him. When you get Magus down to 3333 health, he'll drop his barriers. Hit him with everything you've got and make sure you're at maximum health since he's casting Dark Matter, which hurts a hell of a lot!
Boss 14-
Name: Nizbel II
HP: 4200
Cheffie: This is simple. Hit it a couple of times, and raise his physical. Then zap it with some lightning. Be careful of his powerful attack "Stampede", as it will hit all party members, with EXTREME damage. Continue using magic, and it will die fast.
Spatvark: This fight is a delicate balancing act between shocking and attacking Nizbel with healing your party as well. As the last Nizbel fight, if you cast a lightning spell on him, it lowers his defence. However, unlike the last time you fought Nizbel, if you hit him, his defence increases. The way I fight him is like this: Crono casts Lightning, Ayla does the Cat Attack and Marle heals, or Crono and Ayla cast Volt Bite while Marle heals; that's pretty much all that Marle's good for at the moment. Oh, and washing the dishes, vacuuming the floor and spending all of her daddy's money! Anyway, just follow that simple pattern all the way through, EXCEPT for when Nizbel II unleashes the electrical charge. Then have Ayla cast Kiss on whoever is weakest while Crono and Marle cast Aura Whirl. This shouldn't be too difficult.
Boss 15-
Name: Azala, Black Tyrano
HP: 2500 (Azala), 12,000 (Black Tyrano)
Cheffie: This battle is tough.Your first target should be Azala. Attack him with everything you've got, your physical attacks won't do much against both BlackTyrano or Azala, you will need to use Lightning, just use plain ole lightning on Azala, if you have Lightning2, then don't use it, otherwise you will suffer a counter attack from the BlackTyrano. Also watch for BlackTyrano to chew a party member and then spit him or her out, it will practically absorb all the HP with nothing or little that you can do about it, make sure you use Revive after you defeated Azala. When you defeat Azala you will have to wait a few rounds before BlackTyrano's defense drops to power up his attack, he will begin a countdown from the start of 5 and when it hits zero he will unleash a fire attack that does moderate-powerful damage, it's not really the attack that will bring you to your knees...you might want to use a LAPIS if he begins his second countdown though...he will start over once he has used it.
Spatvark: Start by solely attacking Azala with magic. This means having Ayla and Marle cast Cube Toss and Crono cast Lightning until she's KO'd. Then, wait until the Black Tyrano takes off its defence before having Marle and Ayla cast Cube Toss and Crono using his Spincut technique. Also, have Marle heal whenever necessary while Ayla and Crono cast Volt Bite. When the Black Tyrano reaches the end of its countdown, it launches a massive fire attack so you best have those Ruby Vests on! Otherwise, this fight's a piece of cake. I'd also recommend Marle has the Silver Stud equipped or she's gonna run out of magic points really quickly.
Boss 16-
Name: Golem
HP: 7000
Cheffie: This battle isn't tough, watch for it's Iron Orb attack, it acts exactly like Demi, cutting your HP in half. Don't use any magic against this Golem, it will counter attack with a powerful element spell that you had used against it. Attack it with physical attacks and watch for the spherical fire attack or whatever it is, it will knock a lot of HP outta ya. Once you defeat the Golem, it will use a Shadow attack at the end...so keep your HP up.
Spatvark: What the Golem does is learn from the moves you use against it and then reciprocates in kind. So, if you use physical attacks against it, it'll hit you. If you use water against it, it'll use water against you. Get it? That's why you have Lucca in your party and you're wearing Ruby Vests. As quick as you can, have Lucca cast Fire or Fire 2 on Golem and the fight is as good as over. Keep using Fire Sword while Frog casts Heal and you might as well not have had an opponent. In other words, only use fire attacks, nothing else. It's OK to leave the Rage Band on Crono as Golem can't learn from counters, but other than that, never physically hit it. The only move that should even remotely hurt you is Golem's finishing move, which should do about 100 damage to each person in your party. Just keep your health up and you'll be fine.
Boss 17-
Name: Mud Imp, Red Beast, Blue Beast
HP: 1200(Mud Imp), 5000 (Both Beasts)
Cheffie: This battle is a lot tougher than it looks, don't hit the Mud Imp when the two beasts are alive, otherwise they will counter with a quake attack that does massive damage to all party members. Take out the red beast first and then the blue beast, after that attack the Mud Imp with your Dual Techs, if you have it, use the Drop Kick(Ayla and Frog) against it. The annoying thing about this imp is that everytime you attack with a physical attack he heals himself, and to top it off his physical defense is AMAZINGLY high...don't be surprised that some of your attacks may only land single digit damage.
Spatvark: As can be guessed by their colour, the Blue Beast is weak against Fire and the Red Beast is weak against Ice. For the moment, ignore the Mud Imp and concentrate on one of the Beasts at a time. Use Fire or Ice Sword on one while the remaining magician casts Fire or Ice against the other. I'd recommend going for the Red Beast first out of preference. Use Aura Whirl or Cure frequently until you've got rid of the Beasts. Then use Spincut (Confuse if you've got it) and Antipode 2 against the Mud Imp until it gives up the ghost.
Boss 18-
Name: Giga Gaia (Left Arm, Right Arm, Core)
HP: 9500 (Core), 900 (Both Arms)
Cheffie: This battle is actually a lot easier than it looks. The Falcon Hit is your obvious tech of choice in this battle(Ayla and Crono) and it will easily take out the two hands to the side, you should use this dual tech when it has it's arm extended. If you have the Drop Kick(which you probably don't), you should use this against the head after you destroy the arms, it does a buttload of damage and it takes about 3 or 4 to get rid of the head, Ayla and Frog will initiate the Drop Kick Dual tech. Your main goal is to take out the arms first since they will do the damage, once the arms are gone this guy is a wuss, attack it's head and keep your MP up, you will need it for the Falchon Hit and Drop Kick.
Spatvark: Take out the right arm first (our right, not Giga Gaia's) and then the left. Then, hit it and hit it hard. This boss is a crying shame really. Just pummel it into the ground and put it out of its misery. Giga Gaia will revive the arms but at half strength so they're even easier to pick off now.
Boss 19-
Name: Dalton
HP: 3500
Cheffie: This battle isn't tough, watch for Dalton though, each time you attack him he will counter attack with a Demi type spell, cutting your HP in half. Try to use Techs and Dual Techs to attack him, like the X-Strike or the Drop Kick.
Spatvark: Again, another pansy. Just beat him until he starts crying for momma!
Boss 20-
Name: Golem Twins
HP: 7000(Each)
Cheffie: You should use a weak spell, like Lightning or Fire or Water or Ice, if you use Lightning2 or Fire2 or Water2, they will use that spell against your party, only this time if will hurt like crazy. Stick with Dual Techs and watch for the Iron Orb attack, you should concentrate on one of them and then attack the other.
Spatvark: Same as before but now, Crono should have Confuse and thus you can perform Fire Sword 2 which is even more damaging! However, due to there being two of them, the start is crucial here. It's very likely two of your characters will die before you do anything so have Crono cast life on Lucca and then heal her as quickly as he can. I started by having Crono use a Lapis almost instantly which meant that when one of the Golems cast the fireball spell on Lucca, she was left with 4 health. Phew! That was close. First chance you get, cast Fire 2. Once you've got that done, this fight is a piece of cake. Lucca and Crono cast Fire Sword 2 while the third character heals and uses Ethers on the rest of the party.
Boss 21-
Name: Golem Boss
HP: 15,000
Cheffie: This battle is TOO easy. Simply, sit back or try to kill it. It wont attack you because it is concerend about its height. So easy.
Spatvark: Well... uhm... normally, Golem Boss would wipe the floor with you but there's a teeny-weeny problem. It's scared of heights! You can either just sit and laugh as Golem Boss fails again and again or you can give it a helping hand on getting down from there. Bear in mind, if you don't kill it, you don't get anything and that's 2500 experience and 40 tech points you're missing out on.
Boss 22-
Name: Dalton Plus
HP: 3500
Cheffie: This guy isn't hard, however he will counter attack with the demi attack, just keep attacking him though and he should be through. Ever so easy. =D
Spatvark: You didn't think that was it, did you? But then again, I'd hardly call this a fight either. One Antipode 3 and a Rock Throw did him in... or more accurately, made Dalton do himself in!
Boss 23-
Name: Magus
HP: 6666
Cheffie: This battle will be tough, you should attack with Water2, it does the most damage on Magus...heal when neccessary and you should keep your HP above 140, heal in between when you need to.
Spatvark: Frog goes mano-a-mano with Magus, his arch-nemesis. I found this fight ridiculously easy, but I know others have had problems with it so here goes. Whack him with Leap Slash until Magus gets down to 3333 health. Then he'll start casting level 2 elemental spells as counters and as his normal attack. If you've got any, equipping Frog with the colour mail/vest (Red Mail/Vest, Blue Mail/Vest, White Mail/Vest) will heal him randomly which helps. Don't know where to get those? See my magic box section or read the Redemption sidequest. Either way, keep using Leap Slash.
If you can't beat Magus with just Frog, don't put him in your group and you can have a normal fight against Magus, three-on-one, but it just doesn't seem right to me...
Boss 24-
Name: Lavos Spawn
HP: 4000
Cheffie: The main thing you do not want to do is attack the shell, doing so envokes it to use the Lavos Needle Spore attack which will deal out very painful damage to the party. Attack the head only, use Dual Techs if you wish, but mainly keep your HP above 150 and attack the head only, the rest of the body should die once the head is gone.
Spatvark: Attack only the beak and you'll be fine. No more to say on this one...
Boss 25-
Name: Son Of Sun
HP: 3000
Cheffie: Another tough battle folks. Don't hit the eye plzthx, or multi hitting spells such as water 2, or you will get a NASTY counter attack, that can severley hurt your party. Your going to have to guess on which part of it to hit, but hit the flames only though. If you hit the correct flame, damage will be done to the eye. Repeat, and you'll beat it.
Spatvark: Whatever you do, don't hit the eye or you'll be in for a whole world of pain. You've got a one-in-five chance of hitting the right flame and successfully damaging its core. Once you find it, keep hitting it until it shuffles the flames again. The Ruby Armour should stop you from getting too hurt so just keep plugging away until it dies. It doesn't matter who you have in your party, you'll always end up doing the same damage to the core.
An incredibly cheap tactic can be used if you're playing via an emulator. After Son of Sun uses Roulette Shuffle, save the state and attack the flames. Once you find the right one, load the save state and attack the confirmed correct flame. Repeat this procedure every time it shuffles.
Final tactic is to take Magus in your party and have him cast Black Hole, thus instantly killing two of the flames. This reduces the odds of hitting the correct flame to 3-1. You can tehn follow either of the previous tactics to win this fight.
Boss 26-
Name: Flea Plus
HP: 4000
Cheffie: This battle is another easy peasy. Just keep on attacking and healing. Be careful of its fire attack however. Gosh. This is easy isn't it? =D
Spatvark: Just beat him (yes, HIM) down.
Boss 27-
Name: Super Slash
HP: 4000
Cheffie: This is EXACTLY like the last battle. Just attack the bastard, and heal constonatly. Nothing more to it. Bada Bing.
Spatvark: Same tactics as for Flea Plus; just make him hurt!
Boss 28-
Name: Great Ozzie, Flea Plus, Super Slash
HP: 6,000 (Great Ozzie), 4,000 (Flea Plus), 4,000 (Super Slash)
Cheffie: This battle is tough, if you hit Ozzie they counter with a powerful Delta Attack, if you hit Flea they counter with Bad Impulse, which hits a single party member for massive damage, if you hit Super Slasher he counters with a Dual Tech with Flea. Your best bet is to take out Flea Plus first, focus only on him until he's gone, he is like the fulcrum of the Delta attacks and such, once he's gone you take away three powerful techniques from them, the Dual Tech with Flea and Slash, the Bad Impulse, and the Delta Attack. After that take out Slash and then finish off Ozzie last.
Spatvark: Having the Ruby Armour on will help since most of Flea's moves and their counters are fire-based. First off, concentrate on either Slash or Flea, but make sure to steal both the Flea Vest and Slasher 2. Once one's gone, the other will run away leaving you to concentrate on Ozzie the "Great." Have Magus cast Dark Bomb, Ayla use Charm and then Rock Throw while Robo casts Heal Beam and Robo Tackle. You can also charm Ozzie Pants from Ozzie. See an explanation of it in the special equipment section.
Boss 29-
Name: Ozzie
HP: 300
Cheffie: Oh dear god. This is so simple. Dont hit the ice block, or you will get a bad counter attack. Go behind him, find the invisible spot, nail it, and hes a goner.
Spatvark: Hit the switch behind him and you'll collapse the floor underneath yourself. Run back to where Ozzie is and just watch him get defeated... by an ickle-wickle, cute kitten!
Boss 30-
Name: Retinite (Upper Body, Lower Body, Core)
HP: 6,000 (Upper Body), 4,500 (Lower Body), 500 (Core)
Cheffie: Now this is starting to get tough. Don't be surprised if you get beaten down in the ground the first time you try this guy. Use Ice and water on it, to lower its defence then use physical attacks, and keep on doing that, until it dies. Destroy the middle part first, then attack the head, then the bottom.
Spatvark: This one can be tough without the right tactics. Have Marle cast Ice on the upper body while Frog and Crono beat the hell out of it. Every time life is sucked out of the eye, have Crono cast Lightning on it to keep it alive. It makes this fight a hell of a lot easier. When the top half dies, have Marle cure the party, Frog cast Water on the lower body and Crono use his Confuse technique on it.
Boss 31-
Name: Atropos XR
HP: 6,000
Cheffie: The hard battles just keep on coming and coming don't they? Attack this sucker with EVERYTHING you got. You'll notice that it has the same attacks as you, keep your HP up, cause its Robot Tackle will act like a demi attack, cutting your HP in half. Ouch. Keep on attack and healing. Shock is probably the best type of attack to use against this guy. Keep on trying, and eventually, you will beat it. Good job ^^
Spatvark: Robo's one-time companion, but now she's a right royal pain in the arse, just because he popped out to get a pint of milk and came back 301 years later. Typical woman, making a drama out of the smallest of things... Robo takes her on alone, but he should totally outclass her. Just keep hitting her and healing; it's really not difficult, especially if you've got the Ruby Armour on which makes her Area Bomb attack pretty much worthless.
Boss 32-
Name: Mother Brain, Display (x3)
HP: 5,000 (Mother Brain), 1 (Displays)
Cheffie: First of all, knock out all of the 3 displays, they will heal the mother brain, if you do not do so. Then attack with everything you got against the Mother Brain. Watch out for its Triangular attack though. It does massive damage to your party. Be sure to heal constantly. ^^
Spatvark: Destroy two of the displays behind the Mother Brain and then concentrate on her. Whatever you do, DON'T destroy all three or she'll cause you a lot of hassle. I had Robo, Frog and Magus in my party: Magus cast Dark Bomb, which hit both the Mother Brain and the panel behind her, while Frog and Robo cast Bubble Snap. This may seem easy to you, but try doing it without the Ruby Armour and having destroyed all three Displays!
Boss 33-
Name: Rust Tyrano
HP: 25,000
Cheffie: Like before, this battle isn't any different. He has gotten a bit stronger over the years but he is still just a pushover. Attack with Dual Techs and such, use your most powerful attacks just before the time runs out on his countdown, keep your HP to the max, otherwise his flame attack might burn you out. If you traded your petals and stuff from the prehistoric period, it would've been good to be wearing Ruby Vests, it cuts down the damage by a lot or it absorbs it(sorry, I forgot). After he uses his flame attack he will eat a party member and absorb their HP, so watch for that because it's a pretty damaging attack. La La La. So easy ^^
Spatvark: Same as last time really. As long as you've got the Ruby Armour equipped, the Rust Tyrano can't really hurt you. I had Ayla, Crono and Magus as my group here. For the first round, Magus cast Dark Mist, Crono cast Luminaire and Ayla charmed the Red Mail from the Rust Tyrano. After that, it was Falcon Hit and Dark Mist, all the way...
Boss 34-
Name: Yakra XIII
HP: 18,000
Cheffie: This battle aint tough. Just keep on using physical attacks, and heal constantly. He has a needle attack, so be sure to watch out for it. Easy peasy.
Spatvark: Antipode 3 and Luminaire does the trick every time, just make sure you've got those Vigil Hats equipped.
Boss 35-
Name: Mega Mutant
HP: 4600(Top) 3850(bottom)
Cheffie: I suggest you bring either Lucca or Robo just for this battle. The reason for that is because of its DoublevBomb attack, which deals 3000 dmg to each of the parts. You can finish the boss of in 2 hits. I HIGHLY suggest you to do it this way. Actually, you have to.
Spatvark: This one's simple enough; Charm an Elixir from the top half and make sure everything you do hits that top half. It's not nearly as tough as it looks but worse is to come.
Boss 36-
Name: Giga Mutant
HP: 5800(Bottom) 4950(Top)
Cheffie: This battle dosent seem as hard as it looks. It has amazingly high physical attacks, and if you nail it with a physical attack, it will counter attack with a MP stealer attack. Use lots of magic in this battle, Luminaire, Flare, Shock and Water2. Keep on attacking it with magic, and it will eventually die. Good job. ^^
Spatvark: Steal a Hit Ring from the bottom and then blast the top with magic only since physical hits do sod all damage. However, he will counter any magic by stealing some of the casters magic points which is a pain but it's gotta be done.
Boss 37-
Name: Terra Mutant
HP: 7860(Top), 20000 (Bottom)
Cheffie: This is a crazy boss o_O. Your main target is the top part of it, not the bottom. Use your strongest magic and techs, and keep your HP up too. Once you destroy the top, the bottom will go along with it. Bravo *clap clap*
Spatvark: The last of the mutants and this one is a real doozy. As last time, no physical hits, only magic. It doesn't counter this time but it does more damage and is a lot stronger. Go for the head and make me proud! They grow up so quickly these days... *sob*
Boss 38-
Name: Lavos Spawn
HP: 10000
Cheffie: Another easy peasy. Just attack it with magic and physical attacks, and this sucker should go down quite easy ^^
Spatvark: Hit the beak and not the shell. I'd recommend Lucca, Ayla and then a multi-target healer, preferably Robo for this. Have Lucca and Ayla cast Blaze Kick while Robo casts Heal Beam. It really shouldn't take long.
Boss 39-
Name: Queen Zeal
HP: 12,000
Cheffie: Ouch. Now this is a toughie. To make it short and sweet, this queen has a spell called "Hallation". It will zap your character's HP to 1. HOWEVERLY, you should have mega elixers on you, so heal yourself back to perfect health, and attack her with ANY strong attack. No need in telling which one, cause all strong magic/physical attacks do perfectly on it.
Spatvark: Beat the bitch down. Steal a Mega Elixir from her and get ready to use it when Zeal casts Hallation, which sends everyone's health down to one. Of course, you use one AFTER having Ayla summon the Dino Tail. Heh. Heh. Heh. Also, have Marle and Lucca casting Antipode 3 for good measure.
Boss 40-
Name: Mammon Machine
HP: 20,000
Cheffie: This is a semi-tough battle. It attacks VERY slow, and you can nail it for a couple of rounds before it attacks. Use magic and non-physical attack techs because your physical attacks will get lowered. Rely just on attacking it with physical attacks until its MM drops further then go ahead and strike it with magic, wuteva. You'll beat it once you repeat this a few times.
Spatvark: Apparently, this thing can kill you. I've never seen it but I have a friend who knows a friend of a friend who's died against the Mammon Machine. If that doesn't say all that needs to be said about this fight, then you must be blind, stupid or Richard Simmons. Oh, and you can nab a Mega Elixir from it. Antipode 3 and Triple Kick.
Boss 41-
Name: Queen Zeal and Hands
HP: 20,000(Zeal), 5,000(Hands)
Cheffie: Gadzooks!! This is one hell of a tough battle.Your main concern is the Hexagonal Mist attack, it does about 300 HP+ damage to every party member, have a Lapis ready to counter act that. Avoid hitting the hands, your main concern is attacking the head, if you attack the hands they will use MP Buster which will zap you of your entire MP. Keep your HP up to the max, and if she uses her Hallation attack, quickly use a Mega Elixir or some type of spread heal magic. After you beat it, the Queen will fuss and complain, and you will win ^^
Spatvark: Simple enough fight here. Touch the arms in any way and they'll counter... painfully. However, you can steal a Prism Helm from the Left Arm and a Prism Dress from the Right Arm, which is well worth the hurt. Then, steal a Mega Elixir from the Mask and concentrate all your attacks on that. Have Lucca and Ayla cast Blaze Kick while Marle heals everyone and uses Mega Elixirs when Hallation is cast.
Boss 42-
Name: Lavos (Left Arm, Right Arm, Core)
HP: 8,000 (Left Arm), 12,000 (Right Arm), 20,000 (Core)
Cheffie: Attack the left hand first(your left), then the right hand, and then the head. Watch for the Shadow Doom Blaze attack, it's ultra powerful and can easily knock your party members out, heal with a Mega Elixir. You should attack the head mainly with techs and magics really. This is hella hard. Good luck.
Spatvark: Now, THIS is a fight and a half! Start off by casting Luminaire and Antipode 3 repeatedly until the arms are dead. Once the right arm (our right) is gone, the shield is removed from the core. Keep casting Luminaire and Antipode 3 but keep a close eye on your health at all times. If it drops below 400, heal that person immediately. Marle is nigh on godly in this fight with Life 2. She saved my arse with that spell so many times I want to kiss her! Just keep on plugging away until it croaks.
Boss 43-
Name:Lavos Core (Body, Left Bit, Right Bit)
HP: 10,000 (Body), 2,000 (Left Bit), 30,000 (Right Bit)
Cheffie: This is it. The final boss, and probably one of the most unfair bosses in the whole world. The Crying Heavens attack can be absorbed, using the WHITE MAIL(if you are equipped with it) you can absorb it into HP. You will need to use Elixirs and Mega Elixirs in this battle, destroy the left bit(your left, not Lavos') first, and then the the middle target, the right target is the main target and houses the most HP, it has it's defense locked on for now so you will deal little damage to it, once the Core and Left Bit are gone, the Right Bit is just a total wuss, it will eventually drop it's defense and when it does, go head on with full force against it. If you are wearing the FrenzyBand or RageBand you can counter attack the Time Warps automatically, even though the Time Warps are mainly there for special effects. Luminaire, Flare, Shock, and DarkMatter are the spells you should use often, but don't use it unless you want to take out the Left Bit because it will basically absorb all magic. The Right Bit will revive the other two bits, so be prepared, once the Right Bit switches defense on, ignore the Right Bit since there is little that you can do about it. The Right Bit is your main goal in this battle because if it goes, everything else will go down like dominoes. Have Marle be your healer, she isn't much of an attacker anyways, Frog can use his Leap Slash or you can give this guy a boo boo with the Frog Flare(Frog and Lucca), with Robo Shock will be your main weapon, it does quite a bit of damage too. For Magus have him attack with DarkMatter(or whatever his strongest Shadow Attack is), if you are going to use a powerful all opponent hitting spell, then I suggest you focus your attacks on the middle target, and then attack the Left Bit until it dies, the Bits will counter attack if the Lavos Core is not present though. Crono should use Luminaire and Ayla should use her Triple Kick on the Right Bit if it's defense is down, otherwise use it on Lavos Core, the Falchon Hit will work beautifully in this battle. If you can beat this guy the first damn time, then you ARE the master of Chrono Trigger.. xD
Spatvark: Let's start with what bits do what: the left bit heals the core and removes your status defence, the core does most of the attacks and the right bit revives the left bit and core when they're dead. The main point is that the part you need to kill is the right bit. That dies and it all dies. The key feature is that the right bit maintains a very strong defence, making it near impervious to damage. The only time it'll drop that defence is when it's reviving the other parts, so the first thing to do is destroy the weakest bit. Have Crono use Confuse on, and Lucca shoot, the left bit. That SHOULD do it but we all know what the Wondershot is like. Almost immediately after that, the right bit will drop its defence. Now weigh in heavy, casting Antipode 3 and Luminaire constantly, healing whenever necessary. Remember, since you saved it before fighting the fake Lavos and New Game + requires a save file to load from, anything you use in this fight won't have been used in the New Game +, thus there's no reason to be sparing with the Mega Elixirs and Hyper Ethers; use whatever you need to in kicking Lavos' arse!
The Lavos Core's attacks depend on what era you're in, which is signified by the background you're fighting against. The list is as follows:
Grassy cliff: 65,000,000BC - 'Grand Stone'. Ultimate physical attack; targets all.
Mammon Machine: 12,000BC - 'Invading Light'. Inflicts Slow-status on the party; only used when all three parts are alive.
Magus' Castle: 600AD - 'Evil Star'. Halves HP of the entire party.
Leene Square: 1000AD - 'Spell'. Random status effects; targets all.
City ruins: 2300AD - 'Dreamless'. Ultimate magical attack, targets all.
Dreamless and Grand Stone are certainly aptly described. Dreamless will almost certainly kill anyone not wearing a Prism Dress, i.e. Crono's screwed, while Grand Stone will almost certainly kill anyone who has low physical defence, i.e. Marle and Lucca are screwed. Again, Marle's Life 2 and Crono's Life are invaluable here and the Gold Studs mean you can keep casting magic until the cows come home. Just remember, the right bit is your main target. You cannot kill Lavos without destroying the right bit. If you need to heal, have Marle cast Cure 2 while Crono and Lucca cast Fire Sword 2 on the right bit. Use Heals to undo the effects of Spell and Invading Light as quickly as possible since you need all hands on deck.
Just keep at it and eventually Lavos will fall...
